The Ski Inn will be closing the kitchen at 330PM on Saturday, May 2, so that our staff can focus on the Celebration of Life for Kevin Key.

The bar will remain open, and the kitchen will resume normal hours on Sunday.

BBAC, the Institute, and the Ski are uniting for the first time ever - to celebrate the life of Kevin Key. All who knew him, knew of him, met him briefly, or loved him deeply, all whose lives were enriched or inspired or entertained by him are invited.

The celebration will begin at 5PM on Saturday, May 2 at the Ski Inn (9596 Avenue A).

There will be food and drinks and we invite everyone to share their favorite stories and Kevin’isms. Around 7(ish) we will make our way down to the LiT Landing (the dock that Kevin built) for sunset, which was his favorite time of day here in Bombay Beach.

It will be LiT, just as Kevin would want, so dress accordingly (💥BOOM💥)

Like mother, like daughter 🩷🩷
We found a huge box of old photos from 20-30 years ago, with many familiar faces in their younger years. One of our favorites has to be this one, with Thelma braiding Raymond’s hair. And what a surprise, we’ve got a similar picture of Thelma’s daughter, Cameron - 30 years later - braiding Kevin’s hair.

Some things never change. We love these people, we live for these moments, and are forever thankful for the pictures that memorialize them all 💙
