Ever since receiving our first Hawaii Green Business Award, we have continued asking ourselves how to become truly more sustainable and a more positive presence for our environment and community.

After years of adjustment and reflection, we are finally moving our operations fully into our community farm space — a slower, more grounded approach to hospitality and coffee service.

No more to-go cups.
Coffee grounds and cardboard return back into the soil.
Waste becomes ash to help feed the ʻāina.

Away from the noise of the city, we hope to create a space where people can slow down, reconnect, and be present.

This summer, we will begin offering our seasonal coffee and tea experience in a completely new way:
a grassroots farm tasting omakase.

No fixed menu.
Always seasonal.
Always fresh.

Please continue following us for upcoming summer hours and opening announcements.

We cannot wait to reconnect and share this next chapter with all of you.

Aloha everyone,

After months of transition and adjustment, I’m excited to officially announce the reopening of Koana in a new location and a new format.

This next chapter of Koana will be more community-focused and less consumer-focused — a grassroots farm experience centered around connection, culture, coffee, and an ʻāina-based tasting menu.

We will be introducing a small farm tasting menu experience inspired by the land, local ingredients, and meaningful gatherings. Seasonal and free flow menu.

Our planned reopening day is June 20, and I truly hope to see you there as we begin this new chapter together.

Mahalo for all the support and patience throughout this journey.

Final day at Mountain View Village 🌿

After 7 incredible years, we’ve officially closed this chapter for Koana. We moved everything out, and even now, the space still feels beautiful—holding all the care, growth, and memories we’ve built together.

Mahalo for your continued support through the years. This community is everything to us.

✨ We’re excited to share that we’ve moved just across the street to Ulumau Farm—our new home. We can’t wait to welcome you there and share what we’ve been creating this summer.

Stay tuned. See you soon 🤍

Thank you for your continued support over the past six years.

Koana will be temporarily closed during March and April as we prepare for our next chapter.

Our online shop will remain open, and our coffee will continue to be freshly roasted and available for you.

We’re thoughtfully building something meaningful for the years ahead — something rooted deeper in land, community, and intention.

Thank you for your patience and for being part of this journey with us. We can’t wait to share what’s next.

Koana, Revisited — From a Cup of Coffee to a Way of Living

Roy with Brian, 2020

Some places are more than a brand.
They hold memories. They hold people. They hold time.

This old video captures the early days of Koana—
a small space built around coffee, art, and genuine human connection.

Over the years, we’ve come to understand something clearly:
Koana was never just about selling coffee.
It has always been about how we live—
with more awareness, better health, and deeper connection.

That’s why we’re beginning a new chapter.

We’re bringing Koana closer to the land, to nature, and to community.
Coffee becomes more than a drink—it becomes a daily ritual.
A moment to slow down.
A way to care for ourselves and each other.

What’s coming next will reflect this shift:
the farm, the foundation, and a stronger focus on culture, art, and a healthy ecosystem.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.
The memories remain.
We’re simply choosing to go deeper.

Koana — not just coffee, but a way of living, together.

Good coffee should do more than wake you up.
It should take care of you.

At Koana, our Hawaiian coffee is grown in living soil, handled slowly, and roasted with intention. The result is a cup that offers clean energy, natural antioxidants, and a gentler experience on the body—without the crash.

Hawaiian coffee is unique. Volcanic earth, ocean air, and mindful farming create a profile that’s not just flavorful, but grounding. When coffee is cultivated with care, it supports your nervous system, your digestion, and your focus—especially when brewed as a daily ritual, not rushed fuel.

This is how we drink coffee:
Present. Grateful. Awake.

☕️ Sip slowly. Let it work with you, not against you.

Koana Coffee — a daily ritual for body, mind, and connection.

Koana Hawaii lives on through shared memories, community, and aloha.
From 2019 to 2024, these moments shaped who we are—gathering around the table, sharing stories, and creating with intention. Koana was never just a place; it’s a feeling that still exists in memory, in spirit, and in everything we continue to craft today.

Hawaiian Māmaki Tea – Pure, Native Wellness from Hawaii

Discover one of Hawaii’s most treasured herbal teas. Hawaiian māmaki tea is a naturally caffeine-free tea made from the leaves of the native māmaki plant (Pipturus albidus), grown exclusively in the Hawaiian Islands and traditionally enjoyed for generations.

Carefully hand-harvested and gently dried, this premium herbal tea delivers a smooth, clean cup with soft earthy and green notes—never bitter, always comforting. Naturally rich in antioxidants and low in tannins, māmaki tea is easy to enjoy any time of day, hot or iced.

More than just tea, māmaki represents a deep connection to Hawaii’s land, culture, and slow-living philosophy. Sustainably sourced and minimally processed, each cup offers a pure taste of the islands—calming, grounding, and authentic.

Perfect for those seeking a clean, caffeine-free alternative, a mindful daily ritual, or a truly Hawaiian tea experience.
