Proof that built-ins don't have to blend into the background.

By wrapping this room in a moody blue-gray and lining the shelves with a saturated cobalt beadboard, we turned storage into a focal point. The brass hardware and lighting add just enough warmth to keep the space feeling inviting rather than serious.

The result? Equal parts library, lounge, and statement piece.

I love the way the punched opening frames the outdoor pendant, centered perfectly on the main house window. I could stay here a while… 🥂☀️

It all begins with an idea. Trash paper, sketching plans, layer over layer, then elevations, then the idea gels… and I have to get it out. ✍️

Creating these renderings is probably my very most favorite part of my job. Along with seeing my clients reactions to them. Visualizing what their space could be for the first time. It’s magical. ✨

It takes lots of hard work and patience (and often some inconveniences) to see it through to reality, but it’s always worth it.

I can’t wait for this one to come to life. It will be special!

This pool house is giving Palm Springs vibes in Birmingham! 😎 The cantilevered roof gave it presence, but it wasn’t providing a focal point from the main house.

A new feature wall with a picture window changed that, creating a cozy banquette for poolside lounging and perfectly framing the pendant light. Finished with potted boxwoods for a touch of softness. Now we have something lovely to look at from the main house. ✨

It’s quiet, a little bit glamorous, and exactly where I’d want to spend a sunny afternoon… what about you? As seen in Birmingham Home & Garden Fall 2025

At first glance, this space reads soft and neutral, but look closer and it’s doing a lot. Mohair, shagreen, aged brass… layers that keep it from ever feeling flat. And then that hit of black threading through (the table base, the accents) pulling everything back to the architecture and the steel beams that quietly define the house.

Calm, but confident.
Subtle, but very intentional.
