It’s hard to find the right words.
Yesterday, our Long Point family lost someone who meant so much to so many of us.
Many of you knew Steven, whether through Long Point or as part of our community. He was a familiar face who could often be found stopping in to see his wife, Carla, our bartender, after work. Over the years, many of our customers came to consider him a friend.
Steven wasn’t the kind of person to sugarcoat anything. You always knew exactly where you stood with him and I think that’s one of the things people respected most about him.
He believed in hard work, integrity and doing things the right way. He had an incredible work ethic and a strong moral compass. If you came to him to complain, chances are he’d tell you exactly what you needed to hear instead of what you wanted to hear. More often than not, he’d simply say, “Well… it is what it is.”
One thing everyone knew was how deeply Steven loved Carla. You could see it in the little things he did for her. It wasn’t unusual to find Steven rolling silverware or helping her with closing duties at the end of the night. He loved her, and everyone who knew them could see it.
Like so many of you, all of us at Long Point are heartbroken. Our hearts go out to Carla, Hannah, Tyler, Ashley, their children and everyone who loved Steven. We know many of our employees, customers and friends are grieving this tremendous loss alongside them.
From all of us at Long Point Grille & Bar, we extend our deepest sympathy to the entire family. Steven will be remembered and he will be deeply missed.
Please keep the entire family in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏
