On this episode of “Hillside behind-the-scenes a look at small business ownership”
Recently, concerns were brought to the city’s attention regarding our gravel parking areas, and as a result we need to pave them to meet current code requirements.
It’s one of those parts of business ownership that most people never see. Sometimes unexpected projects come along, and whether they fit the budget or not, you have to find a way to make them happen. In this case, that surprise comes with about a $25,000 price tag.
The reality is that owning a small business isn’t just burgers, beers, live music, and good times (but I mean mostly that). It’s also adapting to situations outside your control and finding solutions that keep moving the business forward.
We’ll get it done, just like we always do. We appreciate everyone who continues to support local businesses because every visit, every meal, and every beer helps us tackle the challenges behind the scenes while continuing to create a place for our community to gather.
Now if you’ll excuse me, the steamroller isn’t going to drive itself.
For real though I hope they let me drive it.
