What is a way to celebrate the school year winding down? By not cooking dinner and coming out to Mondays in Mount Airy weekly food truck event.

The Railyard (3 N. Main St.) will be buzzing with some of the best food trucks in the area from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

You can also grab a shaved ice from Jessica's Snowballs-Mount Airy. Get the marshmallow topping. Trust us on this.

We are almost through another school year, so celebrate by relaxing some with a trip to Mondays in Mount Airy!

For those of us at Mondays in Mount Airy, our hobbies include eating and thinking about the next time we will be eating. We are simple creatures.

Mondays in Mount Airy was honored to be a part of a retirement party for local teacher Dale Houston. He has been a teacher at Mount Airy Elementary School for 27 years and a part of Carroll County Public Schools for 30 years.

Thank you Mr. Houston for your years of dedicated service to our community and children. We hope you have a fantastic retirement!

We are going to be honest. We had a mushroom empanada on Opening Day a few weeks ago and we are still dreaming about it. Seriously.
