You guys are killing me. I have made 8 pies, several fried pies and a pumpkin sheetcake today, and our dessert refrigerator still looks empty! 😂

Last summer, Kyle and I went on our first vacation without kids. We went to Puerto Rico and absolutely loved it. ❤️
One of our favorite things we did was we kayaked in a bay at night so we could see some bioluminescent microorganisms.
As we paddled, the water started glowing. And if you dipped your hand in the water, the microorganisms on your hand and arm looked like tiny Christmas lights blinking! It was so amazing and beautiful.
As I was thinking about that tonight, I looked in our backyard and saw dozens of fireflies blinking. Just as amazing, but we don't even notice them or appreciate them because we see them all the time.
Isn't that just like us? We see incredible, amazing things in other people's lives or other places, but miss things just as amazing in our own lives and in our own hometowns.

So we started talking about how dating was called different things for different generations. This was what we remember growing up,
"Will you go with me?"
One of our ladies said that they said, "They were going steady".
Someone else said that they were dating.
What did you call dating when you were growing up?

(He just asked me if I had decided yet. I told him I was still thinking about it. 😂)

You just need to tell us when you are ordering, double check the order screen to make sure we labeled it gluten-free and then gluten-free orders will come out on a round, white plate.
Someone came in today and thought everything we made was gluten-free, so they didn't tell us they needed gluten-free. 😬😞

I am late making this post, but better late than never...right?! I hope so.😆
This year, we had the pleasure of getting to know a local exchange student name Bruno. I remember the first time Bruno came into the cafe, because I thought Kyle scared him off for good! 😂
I don't think he knew what to think about Kyle, because of course, he messed with him and kept saying he was from different countries than he was. 🤣
Over this year, though, I think Bruno started figuring Kyle out and actually began messing with Kyle too.
Boy, he is a great kid and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He unfortunately moved back home to Brazil last weekend. 😔
But before he left, Kyle asked him what his three favorite things were from his time here in Mounds and guess what he said!

*And Football/Basketball
Kyle said, "Well, of course, you have to say Cafe75."
But Bruno said, "No, really. I really have enjoyed coming in here." 🥰
Well, Bruno, we really have enjoyed you coming into the cafe, too. It has been a pleasure watching you flourish here.
You are a world changer and we can't wait to hear about what is next for you. You are one brave, impressive young man and you will always have a home here in Mounds!
And when we see your hometown on our wall, we will definitely think of you! ❤️

We had someone complain today about a couple of things that we have talked about before.
They were upset that we didn't give them refills on their drinks, and that our POS system asked them if they wanted to leave a tip when they ordered.
So just a reminder...
*We are a counter-serve style restaurant like Five Guys and McAlisters. The POS system has a tipping OPTION when you order and pay, but it is what it says, OPTIONAL.
You don't have to leave a tip. :)
*We try to keep people's drinks full IF we can, but since we don't have servers, sometimes that is difficult. We do have a sign at the register that says, "Drink Refills Here" in case you need more to drink before we can bring you some.
If you are like this person and regret leaving a tip, just let us know and we will happily return your tip. :)
