❤️ A Little Heart-to-Heart From the Mom Behind Main Street Play Café

What some people may not realize is that this business wasn’t built overnight.

I spent over two years pouring my blood, sweat, tears, time, $'s and heart into building this place. I’ve made sacrifices that most people will never see, worked countless hours, and put so much of myself into creating something special for families in our community.

And I continue to do that every single day.

I’m a mom of four, a small-business owner who often runs this place alone, and a nurse who still picks up shifts when I can. Some days, I’m juggling more than I ever imagined. But I keep showing up because I believe in what I’ve built and the joy it brings to so many families.

I understand that not every decision I make will make everyone happy. I understand that closing early can be frustrating, especially when families have made plans.

But what I don’t understand, and won’t accept, is being treated disrespectfully because I have to put my own children first.

My business means the world to me, but my children will always come first. And I will never apologize for putting my kids first. I built the play cafe for them.

I welcome feedback, questions, and concerns. I know there is always room to learn and grow. But kindness and respect should never be optional, whether you’re speaking to me, my employees, or another family visiting our space.

This business was built for families, and that includes creating an environment where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and respected.

Small businesses are run by real people. We have families, responsibilities, struggles, and feelings, too. Behind every business decision is often so much more than what you see.

To the families who continue to support us, encourage us, and show us grace on the hard days, thank you. You are the reason I keep going.

You don’t have to agree with every decision I make, but I do ask that you respect the person behind it.

I built this place for families, and I won’t feel guilty for taking care of my own. ❤️

If your class, preschool, daycare, homeschool group, or organization has an outdoor field trip planned and the forecast suddenly changes, give us a call! If we have availability, we’d love to be your backup plan.
