A little sweet, a little tart, and a whole lot of citrus.

New item in the shop - Kosterina Crushed Tangerine Vinegar, made with just three ingredients and no added sugar. Bright and citrus-forward with a burst of fresh fruit flavor, it’s an easy way to wake up salads, marinades, cocktails, and mocktails.

And here’s a simple dressing to try with it that we have been featuring in the cafe with our salads:

Tangerine Salad Dressing
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
¼ cup Crushed Tangerine Vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
A pinch of garlic powder
Salt + pepper to taste

Add everything to a jar and shake well (or whisk together in a bowl), then drizzle over your favorite salad.

Pick up a bottle at The Gatehouse and give your usual vinaigrette a citrusy little upgrade.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Salad Dressings 3 Ways

If your salads are getting a little boring, this one’s for you. This week we’re sharing three simple homemade salad dressings using Kosterina Crushed Fruit Vinegars: Blueberry, Tangerine, and Strawberry.

Tangy, bright, and full of fruit flavor, these vinegars make it ridiculously easy to turn a basic salad into something you actually look forward to eating. They’re also great for marinades, cocktails, mocktails, and plenty more.

We carry Kosterina Crushed Fruit Vinegars and Extra Virgin Olive Oil right here at The Gatehouse, so you can pick up what you need for the recipe while you’re in for coffee.

Join us at The Gatehouse on Monday, October 12 from 1–3 PM for our Fall Clothing Swap. Bring along gently used clothes, shoes, and accessories you’re ready to part with, then browse the racks and take home something new-to-you.

All styles and sizes are welcome—just make sure everything you bring is clean and in good condition.

Clear out some closet space, find a few hidden gems, grab a coffee, and hang out with your neighbors. It’s free, sustainable, and a lot more fun than shopping online.

End your weekend with a little time to slow down, reset, and reconnect.

Join us at The Gatehouse this Sunday, October 11 from 4:30–6 PM for Sunday Evening Meditation—a calming 90-minute gathering with simple, fully guided meditation and grounding practices.

No experience is necessary. Come frazzled, tired, curious, or simply ready for a quiet moment. Chairs will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring a meditation cushion or anything else that helps you feel comfortable.

And if you’re looking for a little more space to slow down this weekend, join us Saturday, October 10 from 1–3 PM for Enjoying Life: Finding Calm & Clarity with Mary Cordelia Myers—a workshop exploring practical ways to bring more presence, clarity, and ease into everyday life. Sunday Sessions is back October 11th with Reese Fulmer of Carriage House Band, performing as an acoustic duo from 1–3 PM at The Gatehouse.

Expect intricate guitar and mandolin, tight harmonies, thoughtful songwriting, and plenty of rapid-fire banter. Reese is known for moving easily between roots, blues, bluegrass, tender ballads, and big, driving songs—and this stripped-down duo set brings the songwriting and musicianship front and center.

Reese got his start in the music world managing Saratoga Springs’ iconic Caffe Lena before establishing himself as a songwriter and bandleader in his own right.

Come spend your Sunday afternoon with us. Great music, coffee, lunch, and no cover.

Customer of the Week: Khalil Jade!

If you’ve spent much time at The Gatehouse, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Khalil — and we’re lucky to have her in so many different ways.

Khalil has hosted our Open Mics, shared her music during Sunday Sessions, and even spent time behind the counter working in the café. She’s become a familiar and much-loved part of the Gatehouse community, both onstage and behind the scenes.

And when she’s here as a customer? Her go-to is a matcha latte with oat milk.

Thanks for being such a big part of what makes The Gatehouse what it is!
