2 lbs of brisket + 2 large sides for $60 + tax.

For reference, 2 lbs of brisket normally costs $56, which means you're basically getting the sides for FREE. That's what accountants call a "good deal" and what dads call "Nice."

We'll also have turkey, burnt ends, and bologna on the block, so there'll be plenty of options for everyone at the table.

This deal is Sunday only. Bring your appetite, wear your stretchy pants, and prepare to take the kind of Father's Day nap that requires a search party.

Father's Day Special update!

We'll be open this Sunday for Father's Day!

Originally, we said dads would get 10% off if they brought a kid with them. After some thought, if you're a dad, you get 10% off. No tiny human required as proof. 😎

As a first-time dad celebrating my very first Father's Day, I'd love to support all the other dads out there. Come grab some BBQ, enjoy the day, and let us do the cooking.

And don't forget about the giveaways! More food posts coming soon. πŸ‘€πŸ”₯

This week's schedule is one of our favorites!

On Thursday, we have the privilege of feeding Camp Quality. It's a camp dedicated to kids and teens battling cancer, giving them the chance to just be kids. As long as we're able, we'll continue donating our time and food to this event because it means that much to us. We couldn't do it without the incredible community that supports us, so thank you.

Then on Sunday, we're celebrating Father's Day by bringing ALL the meat home!

Did you know Father's Day ranks around the 10th most celebrated holiday? Dads barely outrank the Superbowl. After years of protecting thermostats and saying, "We don't need to stop, we have snacks at home," you'd think we'd crack the top five.

So this Sunday, dads who bring a kid with them (preferably one that belongs to you) can sign up for our giveaways and get 10% off every pound of meat purchased. Plus, bringing at least one spawn gives mom a well-deserved break... even if it's only for lunch.

We're smoking a LOT of meat and expect a BIG day. We'll see y'all Sunday! πŸ–πŸ”₯

Silver Dollar City, we're back for another dessert review: Smoked Blackberry Cobbler.

One of the reasons I've never served smoked cobbler (unless it's pecan) is because the crust can soak up smoke like a sponge. If you're not careful, it goes from "kissed by smoke" to "did someone dump charcoal briquettes in my dessert?" And unfortunately... most places get it wrong.

This one landed exactly where I feared it would. The blackberries were huge, juicy, and packed with flavor. But the crust? It tasted like I licked the inside of a smoker after a 14-hour brisket cook. The smoke was excessive and left the crust overly bitter.

But then I took a bite of the blackberries by themselves, and my opinion shifted. They were sweet without being sugary, bursting with flavor, and honestly good enough to almost make me forget about that mac and cheese waffle cone incident.

So where do I land? If you hate bitter flavors, this is probably a skip. If you're a fruit lover who doesn't mind digging around the crust to get to the good stuff, it might be worth trying.

And as you can tell from these pictures, my son had already clocked out for the day and was fully committed to nap time.

Overall: a good experience with an identity crisis. Half dessert, half campfire. πŸ‡πŸ”₯😴

Shout out to all the hardworking employees at Waffle House, Roberson Tire, and Arvest! ❀️

The ladies at Waffle House are some of the toughest women in town. I don't know what they put in that coffee, but they can handle a Sunday morning church crowd with the patience of saints and the reflexes of NASCAR pit crews. Always smiling, always hustling. It was a joy to bring them some brisket.

Roberson Tire has been taking care of this community and supporting local businesses ever since we moved here all those years ago. They've helped me out a time or two as well. If you've ever hit one of Arkansas' "surprise potholes," you understand why having Roberson on speed dial is a blessing.

And the folks at Arvest have to put up with me walking in there on a weekly basis. At this point, they probably see my truck pull up and start flipping a coin to decide who's getting my questions this week. The least I can do is drop off a few pounds of brisket as hazard pay. πŸ˜…

Small towns run on people like these. The ones who work hard, take care of others, and somehow still manage to smile through it all. Y'all are appreciated more than you know.

Just a reminder, we are CLOSED to the public today!

Our next day open will be Father's Day, and we're celebrating the dads the best way we know how: with BBQ and giveaways! πŸŽ‰πŸ”₯ We'll have THREE giveaways, so make sure you're following the page and staying tuned for all the details.

See y'all next weekend, and let's show those dads some love... because without them, who else would stand by the grill and insist they "know what they're doing"? πŸ˜‚

PSA: Most people have heard of Alpha-gal Syndrome, but not everyone realizes just how life-changing it can be.

Alpha-gal is a condition that can cause allergic reactions to mammal products like beef, pork, lamb, and venison... basically the four main meats we enjoy here in Arkansas besides chicken. For some people, it can even mean avoiding dairy products like milk and butter. Even things you wouldn't think about, like marshmallows and Jell-O, can be a problem because they may contain gelatin.

One of the known causes of Alpha-gal Syndrome is bites from the Lone Star tick. As these ticks become more common across Arkansas and other parts of the country, it's a good reminder to take precautions when you're outdoors.

I had one of these lovely little turds crawling on my leg today. Thankfully, I caught it quickly and removed it before it became an issue.

So please be careful this summer. Check yourself, your kids, and your pets after spending time in tall grass, the woods, or on hiking trails. Use insect repellent, wear protective clothing when you can, and don't give these tiny vampires a free meal.

Stay safe out there, y'all.

Since I'm closed to the public this week, I still wanted to keep y'all updated on my adventures in eating.

First up: Panda Express and their Cantonese Brisket.

This plate (plus a small order of Beijing Beef) ran me about $16, including the $2 brisket upcharge. Honestly? It fed both my wife and me, so value-wise, that's not bad at all.

Now here's where I've got questions.

This brisket isn't smoked, which means they don't have to fight the same battles we do with fire, airflow, wood, and all the other nonsense that comes with barbecue. So how in the WORLD did they make it this dry?

The sauce is actually pretty good. The meat is tender. The flavor is there. But this poor cow gave its life only for Panda to serve one of the driest pieces of brisket I've had in a long time.

Betty the Cow deserved better. 😭

And that's what makes it frustrating. If the brisket had just a little moisture left in it, this would probably be the best fast-food brisket I've ever had.

My recommendation? Save the upcharge. Stick with the Orange Chicken and the Beijing Beef. They're the real stars of the show.

Sorry, Betty.
