Life update! 🥹

Since y'all know, we had a kid. And somehow, even though it feels like we brought him home yesterday, this little dude is 9 months old! 😭

Time has absolutely flown by, but we've been loving every minute of it. He's getting to the point where he loves climbing all over me, getting into everything, and generally having the time of his life. Meanwhile, I just want to sleep 😂

And honestly, thank y'all. Because of the support you've shown me and this little BBQ business, I'm able to continue being home throughout the week and actually be a father. I don't take that for granted for a second.

Being able to watch him grow, spend time with him, and be there for all these little moments is something I'm incredibly thankful for. ❤️

So seriously, thank you for every like, comment, share, order, and every time you've stopped by. Y'all have no idea how much it means to our family.

We've got some updates on future events coming up soon, and we're also getting ready to start the biggest time of the year around here. 👀🔥

Closed for the week... but late night snacks are a must, so don't mind the hair 🙃

If you're trying to cut seed oils out of your diet, I've got a recommendation that deserves a standing ovation.

These chips are cooked in beef tallow and seasoned with nothing but salt. It's refreshing to read an ingredient list that doesn't sound like someone cast a spell.

They're crispy, crunchy, and taste like the potato chips we all grew up eating before everything needed seventeen different oils.

I told myself I'd only eat a handful. Apparently my hand holds about three-quarters of a bag.

The only downside is they still fill the bag with enough air to inflate a bounce house.

If you've been looking for a crunchy snack without the seed oils, these are 100% worth trying.

Now I'm off to buy another bag because the first one mysteriously vanished... and my wife keeps insisting that's somehow my fault. 🤷‍♂️🥔

And that's a wrap in $20/lb week! Just to keep an idea, we normally do about 10 turkey breasts and 11 briskets.

This week we did 12 breasts and 18 briskets! Almost doubling my briskets, alongside 100s of customers and a bunch of new faces and smiles.

Thank you for EVERYBODY for this week, it was awesome seeing all y'all.

We will be back in two weeks!

So apparently $20/lb brisket is a good enough deal to make y'all clean us out way faster than we expected. 😅

We've still got a little bit left, but it's mostly chopped brisket at this point. We also still have turkey and burnt ends ready to go!

We'll make another post once we're officially sold out, but for now... thank y'all!

Truth be told, $20/lb brisket only works because y'all are some of the absolute best customers around. If it wasn't for y'all showing up and basically selling me out, there's no way I could pull something like this off.

So... maybe we'll have to do this again. 🤔👀

Happy National Systems Administrator Day! 💻

Another fun fact about me: I have a degree in Computer Networking. Then I graduated and realized I had absolutely zero passion for it... so that was a fun way to spend a bunch of money. 😂

Thankfully, I found something I actually love doing.

We're still running $20/lb on ALL meats today, including brisket! Y'all absolutely showed out yesterday. You took us down to just 2 lbs of brisket, ½ lb of turkey, and completely wiped us out of burnt ends.

Good news—we're loaded back up today and ready to do it all over again. Come see us before it disappears again!

It's just plain too stinkin' hot out here, so we finally decided to do something about it. Now you'll have a little place to cool off while you're waiting on your BBQ.

I did try to make Surprise #2 free beer... but apparently the state had some "rules" about that. 😭 I'll keep working on 'em.

New business cards with rewards! 🎉

We had a customer about 2 years ago suggest doing something like this (you know who you are 😉), and we finally figured... why not?

Starting tomorrow, we'll have these bad boys ready to be stamped every time you stop by. Fill it up, earn some rewards, and keep on coming back for more BBQ!

Just to give y'all an idea of what these hot summer days are like...

My infrared thermometer only reads up to about 820°, and my firebox didn't even give it a chance. 😂

To keep my smoker at 225°, my firebox sits around 1,300°. Bump it to 250°, and it's pushing 1,500°. It's all about airflow, and this pit definitely has it!

Now throw in a 100°+ Arkansas day, and my cooking chamber is around 150°, even hotter the closer I get to the fire.

So if you see me after a cook and I look like I lost a fight with the sun... no you didn't. 🙃

We're loading up the smoker with almost 1/4 ton of meat this week getting ready for our $20/lb special. 🔥

This is honestly a little experiment for us.

Beef prices keep climbing, but if lowering our prices means we get to meet more of y'all, serve more people, and introduce even more folks to what we do, then that's a trade we'll make every chance we get.

If this week goes well, this might just become something we keep around. So come hungry, tell your friends, and let's see if we can make this work together.
