For many years, Caleb has been more than just a familiar face — he’s been part of Sharon’s Tastee Freeze behind the scenes. Stepping in wherever he was needed, he gave his time, energy, and heart to help us serve this community without ever asking anything in return.

We know that not everyone sees the same things we’ve seen. There may be false rumors or opinions out there — but we know Caleb for who he truly is, because we’ve worked alongside him. We’ve seen his character, his work ethic, and his heart for people.

Now, he’s pouring that same passion into something new — Da Cajun Trading Card Convention — free admission, family-friendly event built for the community.

Now it’s our turn to show up for him.

If Sharon's Tastee Freeze has ever meant something to you, we ask that you come out, support, and be part of something positive and uplifting for all ages.

Today, with a heavy heart, We are sad to announce that Sharon's Tastee Freeze will remain permanently closed.

After careful consideration, the cost of reopening and operating again has simply become too substantial. This was not an easy decision, and it comes after a lot of thought and reflection.

Tastee Freeze has been part of this community for many years — even decades — and it has truly been a blessing to serve so many of you. The memories made, the families who came generation after generation, the smiles at the window… those moments will always mean more than we can put into words.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming love and support so many of you have shown. Hearing how much this place has meant to you, and how many hoped to see it reopen, has been deeply touching. It reminds us just how special this little spot has always been.

While the storefront may be closing, this isn’t completely goodbye. We are currently planning to do pop-ups at future events, so be sure to keep a lookout — especially if you’re craving Sharon’s burgers and fries.

Thank you for the years of loyalty, kindness, and community. Tastee Freeze may be closing its doors, but the memories we’ve shared will always remain.

Apologies for the delay in updating everyone. If we are able to reopen, we will require assistance from the community and surrounding individuals. The day the storm took the roof, the owner passed away, not Ms. Sharon. We are considering establishing a GoFundMe campaign to either rebuild or transition to a food truck. Thoughts?💭 We would be renting the building! We didn’t own the building and never did!

An Update on Sharon's Tastee Freeze– A New Chapter

We want to take a moment to update you on the future of Sharon’s Tastee Freeze.

As many of you know, this little spot has meant so much to so many—serving up smiles, memories, and frozen treats and homemade burgers for generations. We’ve poured our hearts into trying to bring it back to life, but after careful evaluation, we’ve come to a tough decision.

The cost to repair and reopen the original building has proven to be astronomical. Between structural issues, updates to meet current codes, and the overall startup expenses, restoring the original location just isn’t financially possible.

So instead of giving up, we’re choosing a new path—one that allows us to preserve the heart and flavor of Sharon’s Tastee Freeze, just in a new form.

We will be making a future announcement once things are set but at this time please keep your thoughts and prayers in hopes of reviving Sharon's Tastee Freeze for our city and our community.

Happy Easter, everyone!

Today we celebrate love, renewal, and the beautiful blessings all around us. Easter reminds us that hope never dies, and joy always finds a way to rise again. I'm so thankful for the people in my life—friends, family, and this amazing community—for your support, kindness, and love.

Wishing you all a day filled with peace, laughter, good food, and the kind of love that lifts your spirit. Thank you for being a blessing in my life—every one of you.

Although we won't be competing- We will surely be out there assisting at Da Cajun Taco Cook Off! This is truly a well organized event and we most definitely can't wait to be out there to assist with whatever is needed. We hope to see all of you support this event put on by a single person for his entire community! Way to go Caleb and thank you for doing another event for all of us that we will surely enjoy! 😍

Da Cajun Taco Cook Off: Where Cajun Meets Fiesta!

Get ready for an exciting and flavorful event that brings together two amazing cultures for a one-of-a-kind experience! Da Cajun Taco Cook Off will unite the bold, spicy flavors of Cajun cuisine with the vibrant, zesty essence of a fiesta. It's the ultimate fusion of food, fun, and culture – and it's all happening on June 14th under the Highway 90 Bridge in Morgan City!

This event is perfect for the whole family! With live music, dancing, Kids zone fun and a friendly taco competition, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to enjoy a variety of food and sweets available from our Hispanic food vendors and take in the festive atmosphere as we celebrate two cultures coming together in one spectacular day.

**$10 admission** includes 4 Taco tickets and a peoples choice ticket so you can taste delicious creations and vote for your favorite! Whether you're there for the competition or just to enjoy the festivities, your entry guarantees a fun time and some mouthwatering tacos. Ages 7 and under are free to enter. Venmo,Cashapp and Cash are accepted for entry!

Please have cash on hand to purchase additional Tacos and Food from Vendors/Teams all of those proceeds go directly to them.

As always- 1 Food Truck selected by me that will be an alternative to try/eat- Y'all are going to love this one as it's one of my absolute favorites!

Now, I'm turning up the heat with tacos, and I'd love for this event to be even bigger! This will be the last event of the year, so don't miss out. Plus, I'm already planning multiple exciting events for next year, so let’s end this event with a bang!
