This is my third summer of running Happy Cow, and I am so excited! We have added some changes to the menu: coffee, frappes, smoothies, and tea. Since I was a little girl, my Dad has taught me that nothing in life comes free and to work hard for what I want. He told me early on that it’s my responsibility to make my own money to pay for a car(I’m halfway there) and half of my college education. And
while thinking of ways to earn some money, and also wanting to help other kids earn money for college, Happy Cow Ice Cream was born! In between helping customers, I am cleaning, working on employee schedules, placing ice cream and coffee orders, posting specials on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and even designing my own coupons and handouts. It’s not easy owning a business! I have to pay for the ice cream, coffee, cups, spoons, napkins, and rent -not to mention the long hours! Through this opportunity, I have learned so many things such as the importance of customer service, stocking product, budgeting, and money management. The most important thing I’ve learned is that nothing happens while you are sitting still. You have to get up to make it happen!
