The Athens Apple Salad has entered the chat.

We may be known for gyros, feta and tzatziki… but every now and then, we like to pretend we’re responsible adults and eat a salad.

And THIS one is worth talking about!

A little behind-the-scenes falafel magic happening in the Thena kitchen! 🇬🇷

Fun fact: Niko had to be convinced to put falafel on the menu because, well… it’s not exactly a staple in a traditional Greek taverna! 😂

Fast forward to today, and it’s become a fan favorite. Made by hand, packed with herbs, spices, and plenty of zest, it’s proof that sometimes the best things happen when you let the wife win.

Add it to your gyro or your salad — Niko might not admit it, but he’s pretty proud of this one! 💙💙 Opa!

Between this crazy coastal storm, the gloomy Sunday weather, and the road closure right outside our parking lot, Moodus is pretty quiet tonight! 🌧️

We had a great little rush for Sunday Funday & game day feasts earlier today, but with things slowing down, we’ve decided to call it a night a little early.

Thena Pita Bar will be closing at 6 PM tonight.

We just wanted to give everyone a heads-up before anybody makes the trip out looking for dinner!

The storm may be here, but we’re OPEN today! 🇬🇷

Doors open at 11AM and we’ll be serving up all the falafel, pitas, dips, sauces & all your Greek favorites.

If you’re hunkering down for the weekend, stock up on the essentials — especially the tzatziki!!!

🇬🇷 TWO THINGS FROM THE THENA KITCHEN THIS WEEKEND! 🇬🇷

First…the SPARTAN FRY is finally making its way from our Greekin’ Out food truck to Thena!!

It’s become a bit of a staple over there — and one people actually look for — so we figured it was time to bring a little Athens street-food comfort to the shop.

Think crispy fries piled high with shaved pork straight from the vertical rotisserie, feta, our housemade tzatziki, oregano and a little paprika to finish it off!

Simple, comforting and so damn good. And with a nor’easter headed our way, the timing feels pretty perfect.

FRIDAY HOURS UPDATE 🤍

If you happened to see our previous post about a change in hours tomorrow, please disregard it! We had a change in plans regarding our family’s funeral services, which have now been moved to Monday.

So, tomorrow (Friday) will be our normal business hours — 11 AM–8 PM.

Thank you so much for your understanding, patience, and continued support of our family and our little restaurant. 💙

🍎 THE GREEK HARVEST 🍎

Okay… we made a fall drink.

Apple c***r + pomegranate + fresh lemon + honey-cinnamon, finished with sparkling water and served over ice.

It’s tart, refreshing, a little sweet, and has just enough cinnamon to remind you that fall is officially creeping in. 🍂

Basically, New England harvest season meets a Greek taverna. 🇬🇷
