It is so cool when we read a review of our restaurant and it inspires us to realize we are on the right track and we must keep going! 👍 🙏 🙇♀️ 🙇♂️

WHEN John and Doreen came to the home I grew up in, it was one of the most puzzling moves I’d ever seen.
With no way to know what to expect, my mother and I tried the restaurant early on.
Eatery is the wrong word, forgive me. We were invited into their second home. With all the love of people who belong side by side, John’s front of house became an extension of their hearts, decorated and curated with all the care of an artist. The local staff has learned to pronounce Halloumi, the waitresses remember us and will take all the time in the world to explain what’s going on in Doreen’s kitchen today.
With all of this said, Doreen is the star of this show. To be a chef is her purpose, culinary is her gift, and her undeniable passion and expertise come through in every single dish.
Venice to Madrid is where holidays happen, milestones are celebrated, and events are bookended. Support these people who took a chance on your town - who didn’t speak down to us but instead trusted that a level of dining never before seen in the area would be possible.
This morning my mother and I cracked into our take home boxes for lunch and enjoyed it as if it were new. We eat Korean Barbecue and chat about the future of our favorite place.
Long live homemade hummus and ancient bread.
Long live the people that brought kimchi to my hometown despite no one knowing what it is. Long live the community that tried it anyway.
Long live the dreamers.
Long live the long shot.
And whatever happens.
Long live Venice to Madrid
