In my life I’ve always strived to stay prepared. I’ve also listened to the words of elders:

Moss always grows on the north side of a tree. A sycamore is the strongest tree on the river, with roots exposed, it still stands tall. Spider webs float in the evening sky before a foggy morning. Red Right Return. And so many more.

The one that stands out most often: A red sky in the morning can mean a storm is brewing.

Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.👀
Red sky at night, sailors’ delight.😁

This morning I took the sky’s warning and steam cleaned the smoker. Now it’s time to preseason and keep on cooking. If a storm comes, and we've gotta cook alot, Riverbend will be ready. 🫡 Next round of (🐖 ). 😋

This morning we ran a trial on different cuts, thickness and seasoning options of bacon over open fire. 🥓 😋 I wanted to treat our staff with something unusual, a bit refreshing but savory. Now I'm left pondering the idea of BLT's with grilled bacon as a special, (Not today but maybe down the line), Thoughts?
