Happy Thursday!

I often share stories about how many pounds of vegetables we chopped or how many loaves of bread came out of the kitchen the week before, but this week I'd like to celebrate something even more important ... all of you.

This month, one incredibly loyal customer will place her 300th order, another will reach 200 orders, a third customer will hit 100 orders, and several more of you are celebrating your 50th order. While I may make six enormous pots of soup each week, none of it happens without each of you choosing to put Soup(er) Delivery on your family's table. Whether this is your fifth order or your 300th, I am truly grateful for your support. It is a privilege to cook for your families each week, and I never take that trust for granted. ❤️

On the menu for WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14th is AUTUMN MINESTRONE , SPICY CHEESE BREAD, & MINI BOURBON PRETZEL TOFFEE COOKIES. Minestrone means "Big Soup" to Italians .... a healthy and hearty soup packed with lots of goodies, like seasonal veggies, pasta and beans. The word minestrone stems from Minestra, which means to "dish up" or "serve".....and I'm happy to dish up a big pot of this to your family!!

The soup begins with browning Italian sausage in the pot along with onions, carrots and garlic. Once the meat is browned and veggies are softened, homemade chicken stock, butternut squash, zucchini, diced tomatoes, fresh rosemary and thyme are added.

After the soup simmers, ditalini pasta, bright green kale and red kidney beans are dropped in. The soup is garnished with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese. This minestrone can easily be made without the sausage, you can select to omit the sausage when ordering.

My bread companion this week is my SPICY CHEESE BREAD. This chewy, cheesy bread is legendary in Wisconsin and incorporates red pepper flakes into both the dough and the topping to give it a spicy kick. This flavorful bread will taste delicious alongside this fall soup.

On the menu for desserts this week are MINI BOURBON PRETZEL TOFFEE COOKIES. They are rich and buttery, loaded with crunchy chocolate-covered pretzels, sweet toffee pieces, and a splash of bourbon for the perfect salty-sweet bite. - Payton from Baked by Brown Butter

Happy Thursday!

On the menu for WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7th is my WHITE CHICKEN CHILI, CORNBREAD, and BROWN BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. With the cooler fall temps slow to arrive this year, I still wanted to get a fall themed soup on the menu. And this flavorful chili is the perfect one ... it's made with hearty beans, tender chicken, and a rich and creamy broth. It's a delicious and filling chili but won't feel too heavy in these warmer fall temperatures :-)

What I love about this recipe is that it doesn't include any added dairy to thicken the broth, rather we mash some of the beans to get a similar texture. This delicious soup along with my cornbread will make for a super satisfying dinner!

The soup begins with sauteing onions and jalapeno in olive oil. Once softened, garlic, oregano, cumin and paprika are added and cooked until fragrant. Next, homemade chicken stock, white beans, and diced green chiles are added and the soup simmers for a few minutes.

The pot is then taken off the heat and we mash some of the beans to thicken the broth. Afterwards, the pot is returned to the stove and shredded chicken and corn are dropped in. The soup is garnished with fresh lime juice, cilantro, and tortilla strips.

The bread companion this week is none other than my buttery, soft CORNBREAD. Honestly, there's nothing else you'd rather eat with chili! I use simple ingredients to make a delicious, crumbly bread that is baked in a loaf pan for easy serving. My recipe calls for flour, cornmeal, a little sugar, baking powder, egg, milk and butter ... nothing more, nothing less.

Hello & Happy Thursday!!

On the menu for WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th is TURKEY MEATBALL SOUP WITH ARUGULA, ROASTED RED PEPPER BREAD, and CHOCOLATE TOFFEE CRUNCH COOKIES. This delicious soup is loaded with flavorful meatballs, fresh tomatoes and peppery arugula. It's a lighter soup, as it doesn't have any extra carbs or beans, yet is still a filling and satisfying meal.

The soup begins with browning the meatballs in the oven to intensify their flavor. The meatballs are filled with ground turkey, prosciutto, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, fresh parsley and lemon zest.

Meatballs made from ground turkey can be dry and flavorless, but I promise these meatballs are not. The prosciutto adds both fat and flavor while the parsley and lemon zest add additional flavor and freshness.

While the meatballs are browning, the carrots, onion and garlic are sauteing in the pot. Once softened, homemade chicken stock is added along with diced fresh tomatoes. After the soup simmers, the meatballs and arugula are dropped in. The soup is garnished with fresh Parmesan cheese.

The bread companion this week is my ROASTED RED PEPPER BREAD. This bread is beautifully braided and blends together the sweetness of roasted red peppers with a little spiciness from a healthy dose of black pepper. It tastes great with this soup and is also delicious as breakfast toasted with a fried egg on top the next morning!!

This week's menu features CHOCOLATE TOFFEE CRUNCH COOKIES. These are rich chocolate cookies packed with buttery toffee pieces for a little caramelized crunch in every bite. Deeply chocolatey, gooey, and perfectly indulgent. - Payton from Baked by Brown Butter

Happy Thursday!

Phew... we survived another Matzo Ball week, and this one was definitely one for the books!

We cooked our hearts out and managed to fulfill nearly 90% of the waitlist orders. To make it happen, we went through more than 70 pounds of carrots, 13 whole Amish chickens, and what felt like an endless supply of matzo meal.

There is truly nothing that makes me happier than knowing that more than 80 families gathered around their dinner tables to enjoy a bowl of our Matzo Ball Soup. Weeks like this remind me why I started Soup(er) Delivery in the first place!

On the menu for WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd is ROSEMARY & BUTTERNUT SQUASH CHICKEN SOUP, ITALIAN HERB BREAD, & MINI RAINBOW SPRINKLE COOKIES. I don't know about all of you, but I am craving fall flavors even though the weather outside is still screaming summer. So this week's soup is a perfect fit as it features the tasty combination of butternut squash and rosemary, fun-to-eat noodles, and finished with lemon zest and thyme to add freshness. It has all the flavors of fall, in fact every time I make this soup all I can smell is Thanksgiving, and yet it won't feel too heavy to eat in this heat.

The soup begins with sautéing ground turkey with fresh rosemary in a little bit of butter in the pot. After the turkey is browned, butternut squash, sliced celery and leeks are dropped in along with a little celery seed and fresh thyme.

Once softened, homemade chicken stock and campanelle (cone-shaped pasta) are added and brought to a boil. After the noodles are cooked, the soup is garnished with a dollop of sour cream, lemon zest and fresh thyme.

The bread companion this week is my ITALIAN HERB BREAD. This delicious bread is filled with garlic, butter and fresh herbs. This bread is a fan favorite and the fresh herbs in it will make a perfect compliment to your soup.

Happy Thursday!!

With Rosh Hashanah approaching this weekend, it's only fair that I share the best part of the holiday meal with all of you. It's been a few months since this customer favorite soup has made an appearance, so I'll try to leave orders open as long as I can .... but get your order in fast because this soup always sells out in record time!

On the menu for WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th is CHICKEN SOUP WITH MATZO BALLS, CHALLAH, and BUCKEYE COOKIES. There's nothing like a comforting and tasty bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup with Matzo Balls, also known as "Jewish Penicillin."

The soup is a simple one....whole Amish chickens, quartered onions, celery sticks and more diced carrots than seems reasonable are dropped into a pot and covered with fresh water. Once the soup comes to a boil, it simmers for a few hours.

Afterwards, the chicken is taken out, shredded and dropped back in along with soft, pillowy matzo balls and thin egg noodles. While I put a fresh garnish on nearly everything I make, this soup I leave alone. It requires nothing.

My bread companion this week is CHALLAH, a soft, eggy bread coated in everything bagel seasoning. Nothing goes together better than challah and chicken soup with matzo balls.

On the menu for desserts this week are BUCKEYE COOKIES. Our Buckeye Cookie starts with a rich chocolate cookie base loaded with chopped peanut butter chips for that classic chocolate-and-peanut-butter combination. Happy Thursday :-)

I hope everyone enjoyed the Chicken Corn Chowder! You all ordered so much of it that making this batch was quite an undertaking. We shucked 100 ears of corn and peeled nearly 50 pounds of potatoes to make it happen.

You should have seen the looks on people’s faces at Kroger when I rolled up to checkout with all those potatoes and corn! 😄

The menu for WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th features SUMMER SQUASH SOUP WITH FRESH SALSA, PANE BIANCO, & STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE COOKIES. This soup was a big hit last time it was on the menu, it's light, refreshing, and the tasty garnishes will make everyone in your family happy! And with warmer temperatures sticking around, I know everyone will enjoy a delicious soup that highlights summer produce & flavors.

The soup begins with sauteing onion and celery in olive oil with cumin, salt and pepper. Once softened, summer squash, zucchini, and diced sweet potato are added. Next, white w**e and homemade chicken stock are incorporated.

Once the veggies are tender, a little bit of cream and cayenne pepper are stirred in. The soup is garnished with fresh salsa made with fresh tomatoes, red onion, fresh cilantro and lime juice. Homemade buttery croutons top off this delicious, summery soup.

The bread companion this week is PANE BIANCO. This delicious bread is filled with sun-dried tomatoes, parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs. Not only is it a beautiful bread, it tastes fantastic served with this soup.

Happy Thursday!

On the menu for TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND is CHICKEN CORN CHOWDER, MULTI-SEED BREAD, AND BROWN BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. This is a favorite late summer menu ... it's hearty, comforting and chocked full of fresh summer produce. This chicken corn chowder is filled with bites of tender chicken, local sweet corn & zucchini and a little bit of salty bacon to finish it off.

The soup begins by cooking the diced bacon until it's crispy. Next, diced onion, garlic and zucchini are added to sauté. Cubed chicken is then added to brown alongside the veggies. Corn kernels cut right off the cob, diced potato and fresh parsley and thyme are added along with homemade chicken stock.

The soup simmers until the veggies and chicken are cooked. The soup is finished with a can of creamed corn, a small dash of cayenne pepper and a little bit of half-and-half. It's garnished with crispy bacon and diced green onions.

My bread companion this week is my MULTI-SEED BREAD. This delicious bread is dark, slightly sweet and has a satisfying crunch from the multi-seed topping. Not only is it fantastic fresh from the oven, if you can save some for breakfast it makes the best toast!!

On the menu for WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26th is ITALIAN WEDDING SOUP, ROSEMARY FOCACCIA, & LEMON BLUEBERRY COOKIES. My Italian Wedding soup is a rich chicken soup filled with lots of good things - fresh spinach, creamy pasta and plenty of delicious meatballs!

The soup begins with browning the meatballs in the oven to intensify their flavor. The meatballs are made with ground turkey, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, garlic, fresh parsley, milk, and egg. Meanwhile, onions, carrots and celery are sautéed in the pot.

Once the veggies are soft, homemade chicken stock, white w**e and orzo pasta are dropped in. After the pasta is cooked, fresh spinach, dill and lemon zest are dropped in to finish off the soup.

The bread companion this week is my ROSEMARY FOCACCIA. It's crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside. Extra-virgin olive oil gives the bread texture and flavor while fresh rosemary and flaked sea salt add the finishing touches to make this bread unbelievably delicious.

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Summer has flown by, as I'm sure most of you can relate to, but it was another good one filled with family dinners, road trips, and plenty of Triple F (forced family fun). For a few weeks this summer, and probably for the last time, all five of the OG family were living under one roof. I feel very grateful that we had that time together, even though I felt like a short order cook half the time!!

The menu forWEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19th features TORTILLA SOUP, GREEN CHILE CHEESE BREAD, & BROWN BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. Tortilla soup is a big customer favorite, I couldn't resist starting off the season with it. This is my go-to soup when I need a fresh and tasty dinner that my whole family will devour.

My tortilla soup begins with sautéing onions, red & orange peppers, garlic and zucchini in olive oil with cumin and chili powder. Once softened, corn and black beans are added.

Next, homemade chicken stock, fire-roasted tomatoes, and tomato sauce are added. The soup simmers until all the flavors are blended and it's garnished with cilantro, shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla strips.

The bread companion this week is my GREEN CHILE CHEESE BREAD. The bread features the delicious flavors of the Southwest ...smoky, slightly spicy roasted green chiles and creamy cheddar cheese. It's a perfect companion to this soup!
