Hello everyone! I have missed each and everyone of my customers. I don’t know where to begin…… since my accident on November 7, 2022 life has been a nightmare …. surgeries and therapy and struggles. I was in a wheelchair for months then after lots of therapy I graduated to a walker then with more surgery and lots more therapy I graduated to a cane then finally with more surgery and more therapy I am finally able to walk and finally just got my doctors ok to return to my business which has been my motivation through all this. Some may remember last year I tried to reopen. I was not listening to my doctors. I put down my cane and thought I could do it. After a very short time I had to close again because I stumbled and twisted my leg and had to go back on the walker. I learned the hard way I wasn’t ready to come back. I wasn’t just being hard headed though, financially I needed to work. This being a bad time to find out my insurance was not very good. I managed to keep my booth at the market. Making sure it was paid up. About six months ago Billy gibbons the market president called me. at that time I still had one last surgery left and the doctors felt confident I would be fixed after that surgery. Billy knew I was struggling to keep booth rent paid he explained that if I gave up my booth that when I was finally able to return it would not be a problem. I may not be able to get my tables back however I could get the tables that would be available at that time. Which meant I may be in a different location inside the market. He even said that if my tables were rented after I come back should they become available I could move back to them at that time. I called Billy on my way home from the doctor and he told me that the tables right beside my previous booth was available. I was thrilled that I was at least gonna be on tables that adjoined my old tables. He said call him the next day and we would make arrangements to get the paperwork completed. I ordered supplies I did a thorough cleaning of my equipment I was ready to open back up that following Saturday. But then when I called him the next day I was told “they not gonna let you come back” my heart sank and I asked who isn’t gonna let me come back? He said the board members voted to not let me come back. I ask who the board members are so I could find out why. He will not tell me who they are. He can’t give me a reason. I reached out to a vendor Leigh black owner of the lavender pig because that was the only board member that he had mentioned. She just said that Billy should have never told me I could come back because the board had voted no. He should have waited to get the answer from the board. Upon speaking with Leigh she said she isn’t a board member. However she would not tell me who the board members are.
I have had so many customers reaching out to see if I was coming back. I always knew as far as my leg I would be back because I would work hard I would not give up. I enjoy cooking for people. I really loved my work. Have to make a living and it was wonderful to make a living at something I loved. I just don’t want anyone thinking I wasn’t truthful. I did the hard work to be able to come back and I did not see this coming. I never even thought that 7 board members would decide for me. So sorry everyone. Guess I won’t be back but just know it wasn’t my choice.
