May is Purple Bakery’s anniversary 🥳, and I thought I’d share the story behind the name💜

I’m a self-taught baker, and I’ve always enjoyed baking. What started as a family tradition of making my daughter’s birthday cakes each year eventually turned into a sourdough microbakery 🥖🍞

“Purple must be your favorite color?” Not really, it’s actually my oldest daughter’s favorite color. When I created this page in 2023, on her fourth birthday, the only thing she had wanted for an entire year was a purple cake. Since her birthday is in May, and I started this page just a couple of weeks later to share my custom cakes and sugar cookies, the name Purple Bakery felt like the perfect fit.

That same year, I started sharing my sourdough journey online, and one day a friend bought a loaf from me. That was all it took. In March 2024, I received my cottage food license, and I haven’t stopped baking sourdough since.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and keep supporting Purple Bakery. Your support has helped turn a hobby into something truly special, and I’m excited to see where this journey continues to take us 💕

You'll leave with a ready-to-bake dough, your own starter, and the confidence to continue baking at home.
