Did you guys know that black and white stripes became a permanent symbol of rebellion because they spent centuries marking the social outsider. In the Middle Ages, they were forced onto social outcasts like criminals and jesters, a stigma that later evolved into the infamous 19th-century striped American prison uniform designed to humiliate inmates. This historical association with breaking the law and existing on the fringes of society made the pattern the perfect visual weapon for anti-establishment subcultures. By the 20th century, countercultures like the 1950s Beatniks and 1970s Punks intentionally hijacked the look to signal their alienation from mainstream society and actively mock conventional fashion norms. So, with all that fashion jargon, we hope you enjoy this sweet lil slide show of stripes that inspired our recent drop.
