Book Your Memorial Day Weekend Tee Times Now!

Greetings golfers,

Memorial Day is on Monday, May 25th - the official start of the summer season. Our tee sheet is filling quickly for the entire weekend, from Friday, May 22 through the last available time on Monday. We're inside the 14-day reservation window, so there is no advance booking fee. But, if you plan or want to play, we strongly suggest booking your tee times so you'll have a spot on our first tee. We look forward to seeing you then.

A River Runs Near Us

The Russian River winds its way to the ocean a short distance from us. In rainy winter months, it sometimes rises to kiss our ninth tee and eighth green, the lowest points on the course. If you are a local, you know the dangers of the river's current. If you are a visitor and plan to spend some time on the river, we suggest taking every precaution to insure your safety. This week is National Safe Boating Week, and we supported it by donning life preservers. You don't need these while playing golf - they're not good for your swing - but it's a reminder to play safely on and in the water.

Happy Mother's Day
Greetings golfers,
Northwood isn’t exactly a “grip it and rip it” kind of course — it’s more about patience, precision, and accepting that sometimes you’re just going to ricochet off a redwood and pretend that was the plan all along. Come to think of it, Moms have been teaching us those exact skills for years. If life had a caddie, Moms would be the one gently suggesting, “Maybe aim a little more to the left this time.”

We hope your Mother’s Day is as peaceful and beautiful as this place — and that wherever you are, your day is filled with love and appreciation - and maybe a round of golf.

Springtime News
Greetings golfers,
The unseasonable warm weather might make you think it's summer. We are still implementing our spring maintenance schedule which includes work on our greens, tees, and fairways. The course will be closed the mornings of Wednesday, April 1 and 8, until noon. Thank you for your patience.
Pace of Play Improves
Your Experience

A recent USGA survey shows that most golfers believe appropriate pace of play is critical to the enjoyment of their rounds. Northwood makes a concerted effort in enacting the best practices that will positively affect the pace of play at our golf courses.

Our tee time intervals are 12 minutes, much more than the industry average of nine. It's to provide comfortable spacing between groups.

We utilize a GPS-enabled hardware and software system to help us manage pace of play. Each unit on the golf course feeds data into a software program that our pace manager and player assistants can view from any connected device, allowing them to identify issues as they develop. As a result, our player assistants are now able to dedicate nearly all of their time to helping, rather than identifying, the groups in need.

We believe in "Ready Golf." Your correct position on the course is immediately behind the group in front of you, not immediately in front of the group behind you. Arrive at your next shot just before the group in front leaves the area in front of you, and be prepared to hit within 20 seconds of the area ahead being cleared.

Here are some tips on playing at a pace that keeps everyone moving. We thank you in advance for doing your part and respecting your fellow guests by consistently keeping pace with the preceding group throughout your round.

Last Sunday the Northwood Men's Club held a fun event called "Randy's Funky Nassau"... The highlight being a tribute to longtime Northwood golfer and all around good guy, James Stadig.
Anyone who has played with James or saw the YouTube Video 10,000 Trees Northwood, has seen or heard James' yell as he tee'd off on hole number 9.
Part of the fun was that each golfer tried to copy James yelling as he hit the ball. It was silly, fun and a way for the club to honor a member who has meant so much to us. Enjoy the short video.

We would like to congratulate golfer Darcy Snell in becoming the newest member of "Northwood's Hole In One Club".

Making that Ace on hole number 8 on February 4, 2026... 102 yards out with a smooth 9 iron, he sent his green ProV1X into the hole.

Playing and witnessed by Alberto and Shawn, both of which work here at Da Wood.

Always an amazing feet and coveted by every golfer playing the game! Congratulations Darcy! We will see you soon!
