LITTLE DAISY BAKE SHOP OPENED ITS DOORS FIFTEEN YEARS AGO TODAY!!1️⃣5️⃣
To put that in perspective: back in the fall of 2011, Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” was dominating the radio, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 ruled the box office, and a dozen eggs cost $1.77.
I didn’t have a culinary school degree or a corporate master plan. What I did have was a vision of running a true neighborhood bakery where everything tasted genuinely homemade; mostly because the recipes we started with were from family.
We’ve thrived for fifteen years because of the Little Daisy Team that continues to amaze me. Selena, you know her Australian accent, and Christina, our cookie decorator and key lime pie creator, have both been at Daisy since Day One. Rita, Rose, Bri, Amaya, Angela, Jen, Weronika, Anaya, Gillian, Cat, Maddy, and Isabella all put so much dedication and hard work into making sure we serve up the best baked good with top-notch customer service. We’ve had so many incredible people work at Little Daisy through the years and I mention a few more in my Substack today.
We’ve weathered Hurricane Sandy, government shutdowns, supply shortages, a global pandemic, and ongoing shifts in tariffs and inflation. Costs change, circumstances pivot, but our core standard doesn’t. Customers don’t always see the early morning hustle behind the kitchen doors, but every scone, cake, and cookie carries immense dedication.
You’ve welcomed us into your daily routines. We know your morning orders, hear about your families, and watch generations grow up before our eyes. Being woven into the fabric of your birthdays, milestone celebrations, class parties, fundraisers, town events, holidays, and tough weeks is the greatest privilege of this business.
To everyone who has stood behind our counter, baked in our kitchen, and lined up out the door: thank you. We’re still here and still proud to bake for you every morning.
