It’s been a month since we closed on the Weaver D’s space. I have been reflecting deeply on the past few years and the lessons we’ve learned. This is currently one of the most exciting times for the company. Things are going really well and I am truly having a blast leading
About a year ago, I started to get pretty restless. People say we are growing fast, but it has felt a little boring to me. If it were up to me, I would move MUCH faster.
The past year, however, has forced me to slow down, and I’m thankful for that. It has allowed us to make good hires and strengthen Baddies as a company. Is it perfect? Not even close. But we do not move forward when things are perfect. We move forward constantly.
ALSO a year ago, I had a vision for a new concept that I would build “one day.” Totally separate from Baddies but to be run with the same principles. Truthfully, I thought we’d do this in 2030. People around me have been talking about how great the company is doing and how we just need to “keep doing our thing.” We will do that, but I also think that I need to pay attention to my temperment and wiring.
Something I know about myself is that when I notice people getting too comfortable, I stir things up to keep them on their toes. It is both extremely fun and wildly uncomfortable.
All that said, our original plan was to turn Weaver D’s into a Baddies. Just after closing, I felt a deep sense of discontent with the idea of it being a Baddies. So, we will not be turning the old Weaver D’s space into a Baddies. We will not be doing the new concept in 2030. We will be doing it right now. We are giving ourselves 2 months from closing on the space to fully create this new concept. Is that possible? Is that enough time? Hell yea it is. We will find a way. Can we apply what we learned over the past 4 years to a new concept? We must!
I love the chaos of that. I tend to see things more clearly when my back is against the wall and we face a tight deadline.
I won’t tell you what that concept will be yet, but I will drop some Easter Eggs over the next month. Our goal is to open in mid-April. Stay tuned😈

The food that the team are (is? Are? No clue) curating is beautiful. Mad dawg and I always get the wings. At first glance, it’s daunting. $16 for 4 wings? Are you 4 real?! Best $16 I’ve ever spent. I licked my plate. Didn’t need ranch. Didn’t need bleu cheese.
I also got the cumin lamb noodle. Honestly, one of the best dishes I’ve had in ages in Athens. I quit drinking, but their cocktails are also my favorite in Athens. Go eat at . They are special.

Brought back sourdough. Gonna mess with this a good bit moving forward. Found out my son has an egg allergy and most breads contain eggs. Not the rise I wanted but was great nonetheless!

The newest taqueria, . It’s in the middle of no where which is a plus. It’s in a gas station next to los plebes which is also a plus. I rate taco shops off of the relative hidden-ness and taste. This shop gets a 9.1. Neck and neck with Juaritos in my book. Nobody knows about this one yet. Their homemade drinks are also a huge bonus. Love this shop.
