The Roe — A Closing Chapter
The Roe began as a dream — to bring old-world market experiences we encountered in Jerusalem, Hebron, Benin, Finale Ligure, Barcelona, and Antibes back to our small hometown of Monroe, Georgia.
What started as an idea became the careful restoration of a historic building, a journey that carried us through COVID and led to our first gathering in the space: a beautiful celebration of the life of our sister, the remarkable Keli Burns Imperatori. Her spirit and love for design inspired us every step of the way.
We never set out to enter the restaurant business. Instead, we set out to create a space for stories, connection, and meaning. We are deeply grateful to every person who filled these walls with life and laughter, including the final celebration of life for our dad, Jeff PawPaw South, our constant biggest cheerleader, whose presence will always be felt in the building as he was ALWAYS there.
We close this chapter with gratitude and pride. We are genuinely excited for whats to come and for the next dreamers who will come to Monroe and bless this space with new life and purpose.
Ciao Bellas,
Lindsey & Daniel South
