❤️ Let’s Show Sylvia Garcia the Love She’s Given All of Us

If Queen Bean had an actual Queen, it would be Sylvia. If you’ve spent any time at Queen Bean over the past 17+ years, chances are you’ve been greeted (in English & Spanish!) by Sylvia Garcia, the warm smile and booming voice behind the counter every morning who knows your name, your kids names, and your whole family history! 🤣

Sylvia isn’t just an employee. Sylvia is the heart and soul of Queen Bean.

Last week, Sylvia became seriously ill and has spent the past week and a half in the hospital facing some significant medical challenges. We’re praying and very hopeful she’ll be able to return home in the next day or two, but she has a long road to recovery ahead.
For the rest of this week and this weekend, we’re inviting our Queen Bean family to help support Sylvia and the family she cares for, including her daughter and granddaughter. If you’d like to contribute, we’re collecting donations at the café, and all tips received this week will go directly to Sylvia to help ease the financial burden while she recovers.

We’ve also placed a journal at the front counter where you can leave a note, a memory, a prayer, or simply a few words of encouragement. Our hope is to fill its pages with reminders of how deeply she’s loved by this community.

Whether you’re able to give financially, leave a message, or simply keep Sylvia in your thoughts, every act of kindness matters.

Thank you for helping us surround one of Queen Bean’s most beloved people with the same generosity, warmth, and compassion she’s shared with all of us for the last 17 years.

We love you, Sylvia. We’re all rooting for you. And we can't wait to see you back at Queen Bean soon! ❤️

Join us Wednesday night, July 8th, for a creative night of writing and reflection. This is a night of guided writing prompts, great conversations, and deep connections.

Curated by , this is a night to write, share, reflect and connect. And no, you do not have to read what you have written but the one rule of Write Night is this: you can only share what you've written on the night of Write Night. This is purposeful. We are all living in first drafts and writing them too. We can edit along the way, but we want the raw, vulnerable, and authentic material to work from.

🚨EVENT UPDATE

Unfortunately, due to illness, our scheduled Valley Hot Seat guest, Sasha Devaroe, is no longer able to join us this Tuesday. We know many of you were looking forward to the conversation, and we’re disappointed too. We wish Sasha a speedy recovery and hope to welcome them back to the Queen Bean soon.

Rather than cancel the evening, we’ve decided to do what comedians do best—we pivot.

Introducing The Valley Hot Seat: Iron Tongue Challenge.

The night begins with our Hot Nuggies Open Mic, where every comedian who signs up will kick off their set by eating a Dino Nugget dipped in a mystery hot sauce before grabbing the microphone. The challenge isn’t just telling jokes. It's staying funny while your mouth is on fire. 🔥

After the open mic, our featured comedians return to the Valley Hot Seat for a live panel where the hot sauces get hotter, the questions get tougher, and the audience decides who earns the title of Iron Tongue Champion.

If you’ve ever wondered whether comedians can still be funny while suffering through ridiculous amounts of hot sauce, Tuesday night is your chance to find out.

Admission is free, and if you’ve ever wanted to try stand-up, we’d love to see you sign up for the Hot Nuggies Open Mic.

Have you seen the playing around town and making viral videos for social media? This incredible duo is coming to Queen Bean Coffee & Social House, Home of the to shoot their first full length music video and we need you to be there!!

Have you ever wanted to be a rockstar? A video vixen? Have you ever wanted to live out your Soul Train dreams by being on set for a music video?

Most importantly, have you ever wanted to support a local band so hard that when they breakthrough and win a Grammy, you can say, "I was in their first music video when they filmed at Queen Bean in Modesto!!"

If you're available on July 12 between 8 and 11 PM, come be an extra and let's help this band make the greatest music video to ever come out of Modesto, California!

‼️Warning: If you've never been on a film set, there's a lot of stopping and starting and standing around. This is not a live concert. It is a music video shoot. We will have food and drinks available for purchase and we know 100% we'll have a really good time supporting this band and each other as we work together to create the next great city of art in America!
