May was Lyme Disease Awareness Month, but while the month has come to an end, tick season hasn't.

As you spend more time outdoors, remember to take a few minutes to check yourself, your children, and your pets for ticks. A quick tick check can go a long way toward preventing tick-borne illnesses.

Have fun and enjoy the outdoors! 🌿

Our Environmental Health staff are polishing up presentations and getting ready for the Aquatic Venue Seminar on Thursday! Every two years, we host a day-long seminar for local pool operators to refresh their knowledge and prepare for swimming season.

Operating a safe aquatic venue requires careful attention to swimmer safety, water quality, routine maintenance, and the prevention of physical and chemical hazards. We appreciate the local operators who take the time to stay up to date on best practices and help keep our community pools safe and enjoyable for everyone!
