Recently, a customer had a question about mold-free coffee. Read Greg’s blog about his response in the moment and the answer he should have given (link in bio).

I Owe a Customer a Better Answer About “Mold-Free” Coffee

A customer asked me if our coffee was mold-free. I did not respond well.

I compared the phrase to an organic label and waved the whole thing away as another certification companies pay for so they can put better language on a package.

That was not fair.

It was not fair to the customer, who was asking a reasonable question about her health. It was not a careful comparison. And mostly, it was a response built out of something I do not enjoy admitting:

I did not know enough to answer. So, first, I am sorry. You asked a good question. I gave you a dismissive answer because skepticism was easier than saying, “I need to look into that.”

I have looked into it now.

Here is the answer I should have given (https://cornercoffee.substack.com/p/i-owe-a-customer-a-better-answer) .
