For over fourteen years we have been honored to call Sun Street our neighbor.
At the strange, early hours bakers know so well, I would drive by and wave, “Good morning, Solveig” on my way to my night shift at the ovens.
Often too busy to stop — because that’s what this life asks of you. But there has always been comfort in knowing you were there.
We remember Solveig and Martin working on their business plan at a table in our bakery — dreaming forward with courage and flour-dusted hands. Over the years our lives have moved quickly, always busy, often overlapping in quiet ways. A text check-in. A shared nod. The unspoken understanding between artisans who keep the ovens warm before the sun rises.
There is something grounding about having another honest-to-goodness baker down the street. Someone toiling by the oven with integrity. With strength. With kindness. Exactly the way a baker comes.
Sun Street has represented everything they set out to do — with class, steadiness, and heart.
We will miss knowing that tremendous class act is on that corner.
We will miss the comfort of it.
Solveig and Martin — thank you for being extraordinary neighbors and fellow artisans. We are rooting for you in next chapter.
With admiration and gratitude,
Your neighbors at Patisserie 46
