Since 2007, we’ve grown from Maxie’s, known for bold Southern flavors and lively celebrations like Mardi Gras and Derby Day, to Blue’s Egg + Bakery, a modern take on American brunch with a dedicated bakery, and Story Hill BKC, a neighborhood restaurant with a passion for seasonal cooking and a built-in bottle shop. Black Shoe Catering brings inspiration from our kitchens to parties, weddings, and events throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. We’ve been honored as two-time semifinalists for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurateur.

At Black Shoe Hospitality, our guests feel like the most important people in the room because of the incredible team members standing behind our counters, kitchens, and tables.

Big news for Milwaukee.

Last night we were at the Michelin announcement, and it’s official—Milwaukee is part of the new Great Lakes region.

The inspectors are already here. Quietly dining. Taking notes. Looking for what makes this place special.

We’ve always believed in this city. The restaurants. The people. The way a great meal can be anything—from a quick lunch to a full-on celebration.
