Our name pays tribute to the black shoes worn by cooks and servers everywhere—sturdy, timeless, and built for a job well done. Since 2007, we’ve grown from Maxie’s, known for bold Southern flavors and lively celebrations like Mardi Gras and Derby Day, to Blue’s Egg + Bakery, a modern take on American brunch with a dedicated bakery, and Story Hill BKC, a neighborhood restaurant with a passion for seasonal cooking and a built-in bottle shop. Black Shoe Catering brings inspiration from our kitchens to parties, weddings, and events throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. We’ve been honored as two-time semifinalists for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurateur.
