A little over a week ago, when our window was busted at King Drive, so many of you immediately asked, “How can we help?”
My usual instinct is to figure it out myself. But this time, I’m choosing to receive the help being offered. 💛🐝
The truth is, this has been a tough season for HoneyBee Sage.
A slower summer season, combined with carrying an underperforming second location, created a cash-flow squeeze. While King Drive was essentially helping carry the weight of two locations, payroll still had to be made, inventory still had to be purchased, and the bills kept billing. 😩😂
Little by little, things piled up.
We do have insurance for the broken window and are filing a claim, but that process takes time. And as I shared when announcing the Third Ward closure, the window ultimately helped bring into focus a decision I was already wrestling with: it was time to bring our resources, energy and attention back HOME.
We’ve taken that step. Third Ward is closed.
Now, we’re working to stabilize and strengthen King Drive.
This campaign will provide some much-needed breathing room as we balance payroll, replenish inventory, catch up on accumulated operating expenses and transition back to a healthier one-location model.
I want to be clear: I’m not asking our community to fund a business model I know isn’t working.
I’ve already taken responsibility for changing it.
I’m asking for a little breathing room while those changes take hold.
HoneyBee Sage has poured into this community for years, and so many of you have asked for the opportunity to pour back into us.
I’m finally willing to receive it. 💛
If HoneyBee Sage has ever poured you a cup of tea, taught you something, supported your organization, employed someone you love, given you a place to gather or simply made you feel at HOME, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.
And if you can’t give financially, shop King Drive, share this campaign, bring a friend or simply keep telling folks:
HoneyBee Sage is still here. 🐝
We closed a location.
We did not close the vision.
Still healing. Still building. Still elevating.
