MILWAUKEE WEATHER ALERT: BRUTAL HEAT IS COMING. 🚨☀️

The temperatures in Milwaukee over the next few days are going to be absolutely brutal.

Chained and outdoor dogs cannot survive this heat without immediate intervention.

As the only rescue in Milwaukee strictly dedicated to chained and outdoor dogs, we know how desperately they need us right now. Please help us be their voice, and be their protection.

If you see chained or outdoor dogs, please keep these critical factors in mind:

🚫🏠 A dog house is NOT shade. In extreme heat, it traps air and becomes an oven.
💧 Check for water. If they don't have constant access to fresh, cool water, it can be the literal difference between life and death.
🌳 Look for REAL shade. If they are blocked from trees or structures, and have no tarps or cover to block the sun, they are in immediate danger.
🥵 Watch for severe heat distress. Without access to cooling mats, pools, or proper relief, these dogs face life-threatening conditions.

If you see a chained dog without adequate food, water, shelter, or shade over the next few days, please report it immediately.

After contacting MPD, please contact DNS (Department of Neighborhood Services) to report the violation.

Please also message us directly with the details so we can follow up with a welfare check. Let's keep these outdoor dogs safe.
