🧶 Wednesday Oct. 21, 5pm • Sab Stangler returns to guide you through 3 small crochet projects that make perfect gifts for the holiday season or any recreational gift giving! Come for Tight Knit, stay for the crochet workshop 😌

🪡 Recommended skill level is intermediate, attendees should be comfortable with a single and double crochet. In the class, expect to learn the half-double crochet, magic circle, and mesh stitch.

All projects can be completed with 1-2 colors of yarn, and a communal skein of gray yarn (5mm hook size) will be provided by sab. Otherwise, bring your own yarn + hook!

An autumn block party uplifting the intersections of music, community causes & seasonal treats 🍎

Head to the outdoor mainstage to catch performances by W.I.T.C.H. (an acronym for We Intend to Cause Havoc), a groundbreaking Zambian psychedelic act. Founded in the 1970s, they are the hallmark of Zamrock, a genre that fuses African polyrhythms, Western garage rock and funk ala fuzzed out guitars and lofi vocals.

Additional performances from LA-based post-punk trio, Automatic, homegrown hip-hop darling Zed Kenzo, Milwaukee power-pop supergroup, Tyler Band, and a DJ set of cumbia deepcuts from Cozmiika.

This year’s party welcomes Ramona the Drag Queen back for another mid-afternoon all-ages line dancing lesson.

Inside Cactus Club, WMSE DJs will delightfully spin vinyl throughout the afternoon until the afterparty at 7pm.

Kick off the Beet Street celebrations early with a lineup of Wisconsin punk and hardcore acts.

Local punks S*x Scenes deliver short bursts of hardcore punk that’s as furious as it is fun. Green Bay's Holly & The Nice Lions craft thoughtful, heavy, and empowering rock’n’roll with elements of punk, sludge, and garage.

Joining them are new Milwaukee hardcore group Hair & Skin, pysch punk with a smattering of psychedelia and boogie rock by Doubletruck, and angry, sad, electronic post-hardcore by Plowshares.
