Get ready, cuz we’re bring ingback an old favorite: 🌿Motel Citroën🌿

Motel Citroën is a simple and delicious b**r created with a malt bill that is heavy on malted wheat to add a crisp, crackery malt flavor. After the boil, but before transfer, we add 5 lbs of lemon verbena to the kettle. The b**r is fermented with one of our favorite Norwegian kveik strains. Kveik (actually pronounced ‘kwike’) is the name for Norwegian farmhouse yeast strains that have been used by Norwegian brewers to produce family b**r recipes for many hundreds of years. These yeast strains are extremely resilient and durable—they can handle fermentation at very hot temperatures (we ferment around 95-100 F) without producing any off flavors. This allows b**r to ferment rapidly—we can turn a b**r over in 8 days as opposed to 14-20 days, like most of our other b**rs. Lime juice is added right at the end of fermentation. The kveik strain we use in Motel Citroën provides a hint of lemon, lime, and orange, which pairs perfectly with the lemon verbena and lime. This is a great b**r for people looking for something lighter.
