We lost a part of our soul at The Corner today. You all may remember Zenia, our angel on earth. ❤️
Zenia has left us today and a part of my heart is gone with her 💔 I actually met her in a parking lot when I was 25 years old. I asked her if she knew where to find the WH Junior Women’s Club. She said “oh yes, follow me kid!”. My childhood was rough, where I grew up fast, more of a mom to my mother than the other way around and Zenia stepped right in and became a mother figure to me. Through the WHJC years we bonded through volunteer projects for veterans, homeless shelter dinners, etc. That group of women are the most kind and giving I’ve ever been a part of and Zenia never missed a chance to help anyone in need. ❤️
Years later she began working with us at my restaurant. She LOVED meeting new people everyday and people loved her right back! She would never hesitate to tell people how beautiful they were or whatever sweet thing was on her mind. She was always full of compliments! I always try to be more like Zenia in that way, say kind things to people ❤️ People always need to hear kind things.
She LOVED the people she worked with and they loved her!
She LOVED catering with me! She took such pride in being a part of making people happy with our yummy food. She came with me to represent at the state capital once and she was beaming the whole day!
She was so proud of her son Randy Shawn and talked about him every time we were together ❤️ Then came her 2 beautiful grandbabies. They all brought her endless joy and she showed everyone along the way their photos ❤️ Being a mom and a grandma were her favorite things in the world!
On a personal level, she came to everything. My kids shows, graduations, prom nights. I didn’t bug her to come, she would make sure she new who, what, when, where, and she’d be there❤️ She would go on car rides of errands with me because she knew I was busy and it was a way we could spend time together. She believed in me more than anyone I know. She would always tell me I was worth more than I believed, that I deserved more than I thought I did. She had soooo much faith in me. I’m going to live the rest of my life trying to remember that ❤️
I did get to see Zenia 2 days ago. Our friend Mala and I went to visit. Her brother Danny was there with us. We talked and joked a lot about her life stories. She did give a few smiles and mumbles back through her ailing state, including a I love you back to us. ❤️
