"Prolly more than you need to know, but maybe should"..........
First of all thanks to all the parents, still parenting. Lemme get that outta the way. Truly, thank you. Maybe it'll pay off, prolly not, but maybe. 🤣. Cross your fingers. Right?
Anyhoo, 49 years ago, unbeknownst to me at the time, I was adopted. October 8th. "your doordash delivery has arrived".
Wasn't born that day. Had no idea what was about to unfold. Do any of us? But my parents received their delivery. Apparently, back in the day, it took a lot of paperwork and vetting. For what I wonder? Why would you do that?
Fast forward, almost half a century later and here I am, reflecting and posting my thoughts. Who knew?
I'm wholeheartedly compelled to just say "thank you", Mom and Dad (R.I.P.) dad, for everything you did to create THIS. It wasn't me.
I currently wear a black apron, have an asian mullet and can't see that well anymore, but what I do see is some goodness happening STILL, HERE, in 2026. And that is not because of me. I mean it.
Had they not done what they did, unconditionally loved, disciplined, all the while giving freedom (yah, there was a lot of freedom in the 80's growin' up), IYKYK. 🤣 I may have endulged. However, none of this would be here. And I know that.
So, in my transparent and more-raw-than-you-want style, just wanna send out a big thank you to the parents still, PARENTING. Eventually, big eventually, it might land.
Sorry that I still f*ck up, plenty, don't make the right decisions always, still learning, but thanks for creating something you didn't even see on your radar.
Because you were YOU.
Mad shout out to my momma and late father. I'll take my blunders as my own, but the goodness here, that's on you.
Thanks for October 8th. I coulda been ricing in a rice patty in Korea, or maybe spending money like water if I were in the line of the thrown at samsung or kia. IDK?
But thanks mom, when we didn't have a lot of money, you stretched it, made it work. I saw it, appreciate it and won't ever forget.
That's why I think this one is still my favorite. Or maybe your lasagna with possibly ketchup in the sauce. No judgement. 🤣
Available tomorrow, this. For my mom. We all thank you!
"Enjoy the ride."
