Just a little throwback while I’m staring at hundreds of apples on my table… 😂🍏
Two and a half years ago, I was talking to my girlfriends about wanting to do something here in Midland. I needed something for myself, and I said, “You know what? I think I’m gonna make caramel apples!”
So I called the girls over, we made a batch, and we NAILED IT the very first time. I remember thinking, “Oh my gosh, this is so easy! Why does everybody say caramel is so hard to make?”
Well… caramel heard me running my mouth. 🤣
The next TEN times, I was throwing caramel away. Too runny, too hard, sliding right off the apple… you name it. I cannot even tell y’all how many apples I threw away.
I sent Daniel to the store about 20 times that day.
“Hey, I need more apples.”
“Girl, how much money are you gonna waste on these apples?” 😂
And I’m standing there like, “I DON’T UNDERSTAND. I did it the first time! What is happening?!”
Obviously, I eventually figured it out again. But I truly believe if that very first batch hadn’t worked—and hadn’t tasted so darn good—Haus of Apples probably wouldn’t exist. I would’ve retired from the apple business before I ever got started. 🤣
And now here I am, two and a half years later, making hundreds of apples a week, sometimes a thousand during the busy season, and loving it. We’re in FIVE cities across West Texas, with interest coming in from other cities, too! 🥹
Sometimes I just want to pinch myself. This little “I think I’m gonna make caramel apples” idea has turned into a full-blown business that keeps growing.
There are some exciting things in the works for late 2027 and into 2028, and I cannot wait to share them with y’all when the time is right. 🤍
I’m so thankful I kept going, and I’m even more thankful for all of YOU. Every purchase, share, recommendation, and encouraging word has helped this little business grow.
Y’all are the reason I get to keep doing something I love……so THANK YOU!!
