Fifteen years ago, on Christmas Eve, my dear friends Ann and Ryan lost their only son, Alex, just before his 21st birthday. A vibrant soul, gone far too soon.

But Alex’s story didn’t end there. Through the depths of unimaginable grief, Ann and Ryan have carried his memory with unwavering love, honoring his light in every breath they take.

Today, Ryan, Alex’s dad, poured his heart into a song written for his son.

To all my dearest friends and wonderful supportive customers of Lan Chi’s Restaurant.

It is with the upmost sadness that I write to announce the very difficult decision to close Lan Chi’s after more than 10 years, due to family concerns. Our last day of service will be Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, and I’m encouraging all customers with gift cards to redeem them before May 28, 2023.

I want to take this opportunity to say Thank You to my family, who have always been there for me, and to all of my loyal staff, past and present, for your help throughout these years. Thank you to the business community of Middletown, the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce, and my fellow restauranteurs for all your support and friendship. And with all my heart, I’m forever grateful for the love, the support, and the friendship of all my supportive customers, many of whom are now my dearest friends.

Thank You! Thank You to All for being part of this incredible journey with me.

I’m forever grateful for all of you had been part of my life during the past 10 years. I’ll miss you all dearly and will treasure all the wonderful memories we shared.
