Over 8 years ago our founder Alex, along with his brother Jorge, planted the roots of Choices Vegan Cafe in a hole-in-the-wall building just outside of Brickell. It was here that they pioneered the plantbased movement in Miami. Since that time, Choices Cafe has grown into 6 unique locations. And then shrunk back down to 1...which eventually morphed into the vShops - a food hall housing 8 different vegan food concepts - the first of its kind in the world.
Our mission has always been to reduce suffering for animals, people and our planet. The course has not always been easy. In fact, it's been riddled with obstacles. But we've persevered bullheadedly because we believed in our mission. Today, the obstacles are proving to be too great to overcome, and we will be permanently closing our doors at the end of the month.
Yet, we still see success. The landscape of Miami has changed. Vegan restaurants are everywhere. And as we close our doors, we wish all the other bullheaded dreamers and changemakers so much success. Because through their success, we have succeeded too - a reduction of suffering.
To those who have supported us in any way on our mission over the past eight years, we thank you for your patronage.
To those who have challenged us, we thank you for the lessons.
To those who have been part of our team, we thank you for your service.
And to all of those who everyday do things great and small to reduce suffering and make this planet a better place for every sentient being, we thank you for your compassion.
