Air India collapsed a 14-day refund process into four hours. Not with a faster support team, and not with a chatbot. With an AI agent that replaced the approval bureaucracy behind the scenes, coordinating validations and handoffs without anyone waiting on anyone else.

The move most businesses are still missing: there's a difference between an AI that answers questions and an AI that completes a process. One tells your customer it'll take 14 days. The other actually finishes it in four hours.

What's the process in your business that touches the most hands before a customer sees a result?

A dental practice in Tempe just made the news for explaining AI X-ray tools to patients in English and Korean, before any patient even thought to ask. That's not a technology story. That's a transparency play, and it's winning them local trust and press coverage at the same time.

A 2026 ADA survey found 43% of dentists are already using AI in some form. The gap between those practices and everyone else is now something patients can actually see and feel.

One concrete move for this week: if your practice uses any AI-assisted tools, draft one plain paragraph explaining what it does and that your provider still makes every decision. Get it on your website and at the front desk.

If your patient community speaks more than one language, you already know what to do.

If a patient walked in tomorrow and asked whether your business uses AI, do you have an answer ready that you're proud of?

Toast just rolled out AI agents inside its POS that build labor schedules, manage your online reviews, and run marketing campaigns against your own sales data. No new vendor. No new login. It's already in the platform.

The one we'd turn on first for almost any restaurant? The Reviews Agent. It catches a frustrated customer before they post publicly and sends them to you directly instead. Unanswered bad reviews cost real money, and this one patches that hole fast.

If you're not on Toast, this still applies to you: ask your current POS provider what their AI roadmap looks like. If they don't have an answer, that's worth knowing before your next contract renewal.

What's the one operational headache in your restaurant that you'd hand off to an AI first?

Sophos just published a number worth paying attention to. Using OpenAI's Daybreak model, they cut threat investigation time by 96% and automated 52% of their security cases without a human analyst touching them.

This isn't really a cybersecurity story. The Sophos analysts were reading data, comparing patterns, writing summaries, and making recommendations. That's what a lot of people do in a lot of businesses every day.

The shift happening here: AI stops being the assistant and becomes the one doing the work. The human reviews the output instead of producing it.

One thing you can do this week: pick one role on your team where most of the time goes into gathering and summarizing information before a decision gets made. Write down the inputs and the output. If you can describe the task in a paragraph, AI can probably do a first draft.

Which role in your business came to mind first?

Kroger ran an AI model against its ad creative before launching anything. The ads that scored well converted at 4x the rate of the ones that didn't, at up to 70% lower cost per conversion. That's not a production story. That's a filtering story.

The practical version for a local business: pull your last 90 days of ad performance, look at what your top-performing creative has in common, and build that into your next launch before the budget goes live. Costs nothing but an hour.

What does your current process look like for reviewing creative before it runs? Do you have one?

A Zenoti survey of more than 1,100 med spa clients found that 71% are already comfortable with an AI receptionist, and 79% have quietly skipped booking an appointment because they couldn't reach anyone. Not left a voicemail. Just moved on. The average med spa answers somewhere between 55 and 65% of inbound calls during business hours. After 5pm, it's close to zero. We put together a breakdown of what the survey actually found and what to do about it this week, including one test you can run tonight that is more useful than any vendor pitch. If you called your own practice at 7pm on a Friday, what would happen?

Flae Robotics announced this week that their AI receptionist completed 3,400 hotel bookings in a single summer with no human closing any of them. Not conversations. Completed bookings.

That changes how we think about the front desk for any service business, not just hotels. If your restaurant, practice, or med spa misses calls after hours, the math on this technology is worth a hard look. We ran the numbers for one of our clients in Phoenix and the difference was significant.

The move to make this week: pull your after-hours missed-contact report. That one number tells you whether this is urgent for your business.

What would you do differently if you knew exactly how many bookings you lost last month because a human wasn't available?

Skyline Chili's purchasing co-op didn't "add AI to their workflow." They built an org chart with 20 AI direct reports, each with a name, a job title, and a single lane to cover.

One agent named Morgan watches purchasing data around the clock and flags price movements above 5% before a human has to go looking for the problem.

Before that system existed, they were auditing contracts every 30 to 60 days. One pricing error ran three weeks before anyone caught it.

The reframe is the lesson: a dashboard gives you information when you go looking. A digital direct report has a job to do whether you're looking or not.

What's one thing in your business that you're checking on a schedule, when really you wish someone were watching it every day?

A real executive just published something refreshingly rare: an actual price and an actual result for AI customer support. Matt Lawler at AssemblyAI said his company pays $700 a month for an AI agent that resolves 80% of their support tickets without a human. No pitch, no whitepaper. Just the number.

Here's one concrete thing you can do this week: pull the last 30 days of customer emails, DMs, or call notes and count which questions came in more than three times. That list is your AI agent's starting knowledge base, and it'll tell you fast whether this math applies to your business.

What does your current inbound support actually cost you per month when you count the real time involved?
