Riffle Cafe will reopen tomorrow!
Our hours going forward will be:
Thursday–Sunday 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Before anything else, we want to thank everyone for the incredible outpouring of love and support. Your kind words, prayers, cards, flowers and thoughtful gestures have meant more than we can express. This community has shown Tami, Rachael and the entire family so much kindness during an unimaginably painful time.
As we reopen, things will look a little different. Tami does not plan to return to serving, and Corrie will be your server going forward. She will be doing her absolute best as she takes on the enormous role of serving everyone on her own. We ask that you make Corrie your new favorite and offer her plenty of kindness and patience as everyone adjusts.
We also need to ask something important of our customers.
Our entire team is grieving. We understand the very human urge to ask questions, offer hugs or ask whether everyone is okay—but right now, those moments can make it very difficult to hold ourselves together at work.
The honest answer is that Tami, David, Rachael and the family are not okay. None of us are. But the team needs to work, and being at the cafe allows them to pour their attention into the tasks in front of them for a little while.
When you visit, please greet everyone with the warmth you always have, but do not ask questions about Amber, ask how anyone is doing, or initiate hugs or conversations about the loss unless they invite you to. Please allow the cafe to be a place where the team can focus on their work without having to repeatedly speak about their grief.
Thank you for understanding, respecting their privacy and continuing to surround everyone at Riffle Cafe with your kindness. We look forward to welcoming you back.
