We are firing up the smokers tomorrow for the Pits and Pistons BBQ Competition right here in Meridian. Everything kicks off at 10 am at Centennial Park. There is going to be a car show and a People’s Choice portion of the competition, which means you can buy raffle tickets to actually sample the barbecue from the participating teams who are taking part in the People’s Choice portion. Come hungry, check out the cars, and make sure to stop by the Iron Brothers setup to say hello.

There aren’t many better ways to spend a Friday night than tending a whole hog with good people who share the same passion for BBQ.

Huge thanks to Modern BBQ Supply for hosting another great Idaho BBQ Association Meat Up. It was awesome spending the night around the pit, talking barbecue, answering questions, and watching an entire hog transform into an incredible meal.

One of the best parts of the Idaho BBQ Association is that everyone is welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned competition cook, a backyard pitmaster, or just curious about learning BBQ, there’s always a chair around the smoker. If you haven’t joined yet, you definitely should!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, hung out, and grabbed a plate. We’re already looking forward to the next one.

Smoke-N-Wings 2026 in Blackfoot is in the books!

This one was a mixed bag. We came out swinging in chicken and landed a 3rd place call, but the rest of the cook reminded us real quick that competition BBQ does not care how you did last time.

Results:
Chicken: 3rd (Finally got a chicken call!)
Ribs: 27th Prairie Fresh Pork
Pork: 19th Prairie Fresh Pork
Brisket: 26th Snake River Farms

We’ve been striving for that chicken call and finally got it! Chicken was the bright spot and we are proud of that call after lots of work and fine tuning.

Huge congrats to Janice SmellaQue for GC and Big John Bowman for RGC, you both crushed it! Congrats to everyone who heard their name called, and thanks to the organizers, reps, judges, volunteers, and teams who made the weekend happen.
