Merced Grand Buffet is currently looking to hire a cashier! We are located at 1121 W Olive Ave, Merced, CA 95348. We are one of the largest and most well-known Chinese restaurants located in Merced County, serving thousands of locals and tourists alike every week.

Job Brief
We are looking for a Cashier to join our team and be the first point of contact for our guests. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.
Responsibilities
As a cashier, you will be responsible for:
- Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
- Taking drink orders from customers
- Taking payment and giving change
- Guiding customers to their table
- Answering any questions guests may have
- Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties / party tray orders
- Maintaining a clean reception area
- Assisting the wait staff as needed
Requirements
We are looking for a part-time cashier that will be able to work on weekdays, from 11am to 9pm (up to 20-30 hours per week).
- Must be fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
- Bilingual/conversational proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Great customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the dining and bar area.
- Able to multitask and keep up with a rapid workflow.
- Must be in good physical condition and be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualities
- Previous work experience as a cashier or in a restaurant
- High school diploma or GED
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
