It is with sadness and joy that Mark and I have decided that today is the day we have chosen to pack up our knives and begin the next chapter of our lives. Thank you Menomonie for all your support over the years.
For the past 15 years, Mark and I have had the great joy of serving the community of Menomonie.
We’ve been blessed to meet some of the most interesting, inspirational and fascinating people from all over the world who have walked through the doors of Zanzibar, and have been given the opportunity to connect and learn from amazing individuals who have become close friends.
We’ve shared meals, bottles of wine and raised cocktail glasses while listening to unique, individual stories. We love the people we serve, the young people we have employed and the friends we have made. We are blessed beyond measure. That’s what Zanzibar is all about, a community restaurant where people could meet and enjoy a deliciously unique meal. But it is time Mark and I think about our family and future.
After much thought, consideration, and reflection on what we have accomplished, Mark and I have decided to sell the building that Zanzibar occupies.
You may be wondering what this means for Zanzibar and all of our employees.
Our intention is to remain open until the building is sold. Zanzibar will offer you the same fresh, creative and innovative weekly specials and will continue to deliver on the amazing dining experience you have come to expect.
Life is truly a gift and how we use the gift is the true measure of success, and we have chosen to use our gift to reconnect with our family and friends. Our wish is to spend time with our grandchildren, children, parents, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews and all our beloved framily and friends. We have no plans to leave Menomonie, for it is our home. This is the next chapter in our lives, and it is with heavy hearts that Mark and I made this decision, but we want you all to help us celebrate the legacy Zanzibar will leave behind. So, until the building is sold we hope to see you soon and raise a glass. Mark and I would love to hear some of your beautiful Zanzibar stories.
Love,
Mark and Robin Johnson
