Okay.... I've been stalling on this update. Partially because I've been so busy preparing and didn't have time. 😳😵💫
As you all know, the tornado really shook things up for us at the Lair. We had damage to the shop and inventory, and are still waiting for repairs. But we have been fortunate enough to be open, despite the struggles we face. The saddest part is, many of our customers faced devastating losses and being a luxury business, of course, we've seen a decrease of sales from our locals. (Understandably) We're all just trying to get back on our feet and give back to the community as best we can.
One of the things that's happening to give back to the community is Rally for the Valley. This amazing event is happening Saturday! So much has gone into the event and we are happy to have it right at our doorsteps. What an amazing thing to bring the community together in a rally to support all the volunteers, all the businesses, all the people.
We will be open during the rally! Although we are open our regular hours, the day will be anything but regular. We have a brand new event menu available for that day, only. This is a short menu with (almost) everything prepackaged and ready to go. We only have 3 food items that will be made to order. Unfortunately, we will not be making anything off menu that day so come back here to view our menu Friday night. We will be accepting the food vouchers that will be handed out AND... Yes this special cookie is our Menasha Button Cookie. $$ from every cookie will be donated to the charity of our choice.
Please come by and get your button cookie... We've made a ton! 😳😳 But most importantly, please just come out. Support our community and the downtown businesses and everyone else who is there to share their story. 💓 My team is here to listen and fill your tummies with sweet delights.
Lastly, I want to say thank you. Thank you to our community. Every single person who stepped up the days and weeks after the tornado. Every utility worker who worked effortlessly to restore power, water, and all services. Every person who checked in to offer words of love and caring. Thank you to the volunteers who spent their days helping strangers. Thank you to my volunteers who are coming to help us prep for this event and helping to maintain the shop during the event. Thank you to my staff who came to work even if they were facing their own personal struggles. And most importantly, thank you to my family and friends and customers who tirelessly support us so we can continue serving the sweetest time to all of you. 💓
See you Saturday for the rally!
