The Arcade has the honor of being Memphis' oldest restaurant. Speros Zepatos founded the diner in 1919 after immigrating from Cephalonia, Greece. Situated at the corner of South Main Street and G.E. Patterson, the original building was a small, one story, wood framed building. Food was actualy cooked on potbelly stoves! In 1925, Speros tore down the wood structure and built the Arcade Building in a Greek revival style, complete with retail stores to signify the "Arcade" name.

There’s something special about breakfast with friends after church. ❤️

We were so grateful to share many breakfasts at The Arcade with the late Father Vieron and his son, Paul Vieron, of the Greek Orthodox Church here in Memphis.

Our own Speros Zepatos, pictured in the portrait at the top left, helped build the church many years ago. This makes the stories and memories Father Vieron and Paul shared with us around these tables even more meaningful.

When we expanded The Arcade in 2019, Father Vieron blessed the back room, adding another special chapter to our family’s history and our restaurant’s story.

The Arcade has always been about more than breakfast. It’s about faith, family, friendship, and the generations of Memphians who have shared their lives with us.

We love you. God bless! ❤️🙏
