🏞️ Tucked into the granite foothills of the Wichita Mountains, Medicine Park is Oklahoma's only historic cobblestone town, and once you have seen those round river rocks stacked into cottages and bridges, you never forget it.
Elmer Thomas founded the resort in 1908 along Medicine Creek, betting that people would come for the clear water and the mountain air. He was right. By the 1920s the little town drew close to two hundred thousand visitors a year, swimming at Bath Lake and strolling the creek under the cobblestone arches.
After decades of quiet, Medicine Park has been lovingly restored, and the old rock buildings look about the way they did a century ago. Have you ever spent an afternoon along Medicine Creek?
