Toby's Lounge Toby's Lounge was started in 1971 by a man with heart, soul and a dream. Can't wait to see you! We maintain a busy restaurant, and especially so on the weekends.

Toby's is known across the globe for not just the fantastic Genuine Broaster Chicken, but also for burgers, yummy sandwiches and, of course, cheese balls! Toby's was opened in Meckling, SD in 1971 by Toby & his brother, Verlyn. It is nestled on Hwy 50 between Yankton and Vermillion South Dakota. An unlikely spot, you would think, to hope for ample business or continued patronage, but Toby's has pr

evailed as the king of broasted chicken & seafood for 41 years now. Toby (Clark Stanley Larson) passed away in June 2007, but we, his family, have carried on his chicken legend as he'd want us to. The customers are still loyal and always beyond pleased with what is known in South Dakota as "the world's best chicken". People tell us they drive 2-3 hours just to have the family gather at Toby's, and people that have moved away to California, Arizona & such still make it a point to come in and have dinner while back in South Dakota.
