We kicked off our homeschool Fall break with a day at our favorite pumpkin patch 🎃😍
He said, “let’s get two pumpkins! One to decorate with and one so you can make a pumpkin pie!” 🤣

Don’t forget— Bash on the Bluff is THIS Saturday. My bake day this week is Thursday, and a little smaller than usual to accommodate baking for Bash. Ordering closes tomorrow!
AND— next week is a much needed bakery break for me. No menus will go out!! I will not be baking the week of October 18th. I need a breaK!!! 😅😵‍💫❤️

Also, in case you’re wondering, I do have a photo with him actually looking and smiling but he was talking to one of his cousins here so it works for socials… 🤣 Putting my kid on social media kind of creeps me out, so all you get is the back of his cute little round head. 😆

So, if you’ve known me for a while, you know that from 2018-2022ish I switched to a paleo diet/lifestyle in order to help keep my autoimmune disease (ulcerative colitis) in remission. It definitely worked, I have no doubt. I was off all medications and in remission and able to easily get pregnant with my son back in 2020. I had no disease-related issues until my second trimester of pregnancy, and then I was completely fine after he was born, until I had some adverse reactions to a certain health decision I made in fall of 2021 and I’ve struggled ever since. I quit eating a grain free diet out of frustration because it just felt hard when nothing was working anyway, so why make eating differently than everyone I knew another hard thing. After 4 years of hard struggle and frustration I finally switched to a new doctor and he is definitely giving me the resources to get back in remission, however, I’ve been on my highest dose of mesalamine yet. I’ve been on it for 7 months and feel like I’ve just hit a wall of not getting any better even though I know I could be feeling better, soooo… I think I’m going back to what I know works and sticking with a primarily grain free diet…. Except I make sourdough bread for a living, so… that’s weird, but oh, well. Life is weird and I’m not sure what else to do at this point. My next option is to go on a biologic medication next year if the mesalamine doesn’t continue to reduce inflammation and control my disease… and I don’t want that. And I also have been advised to have no more children until I’m in remission, and being 34 (almost 35) that really breaks my heart on a level I can’t explain…. WOW! What a downer. This post of a cute grain free hidden pumpkin pound cake really took a turn. 🤦🏻‍♀️ That was not my intention but here we are. My point— I have FINALLY decided to begin adding grain free/gluten free items to my weekly menus. It might take a bit to do some testing and pricing, but if you’re on the struggle buss like me, I’d love for you to have options you can eat as well! So anyway… this recipe from Danielle | Against all Grain is amazing. I didn’t do the pumpkin perfectly but it’s so cute anyway. That is all!!! 😅😅🙈

Hey, friends!! Saturday’s market at OTBP has been canceled due to the potentially very bad weather coming. I do not envy all of the event coordinators out there this weekend having to make hard decisions knowing that people’s safety or livelihood could be at risk.
I am, however, incredibly thankful to have received this much notice for a cancelled event. This is a first for me! In my opinion, better safe than sorry is always best. I don’t want to lose money, but I’ve also been asked to put myself in very dangerous situations, losing my product, and my market set up items (like a $150 tent 😕) just to set up for a farmer’s market… literally sitting in the car waiting for thunder and lightning to stop, and being told a “team player shows up no matter what,” hearing threats of vendors losing their spots for not showing up… y’all…. In hindsight… WHAT THE ACTUAL.... what?! 🤣🤣🤣 why did I listen to that?!? I’m honestly ashamed that I put up with it in the past. 🙈 Be careful who you work with, friends!

**ANYWAYS….**

I’ve grown a back bone in the last year and a half, and I’ve become extremely picky about where I set up.
I’ll be at Off The Beaten Path next month for the November 14th market, so I hope to see you then! 💕❤️💕

Happy Friday!!! First of all— check out this amazing spider we saw this morning. I think it’s a Green Lynx Spider. I’m not a creepy crawler person but this one was BEAUTIFUL. I mean look at that green!! 😍

The little guy and I had a very fun morning with our homeschool friends at the park! Thanks for being flexible this month as my bake days are on a slightly different schedule to accommodate some fun homeschooling activities and a couple of bakery events. I appreciate you guys, and hope to see you at Off The Beaten Path Antiques & for the market day on October 10th or Bash on the Bluff on October 17th 😍

There is nothing basic about this loaf, my friends. She’s beautiful, delicious, and full of spice 😍
And she is back starting this weekend!

I’ve got a lot of new friends here on this page and I’ve been meaning to do a post about all the things but… y’all… I’m busy. 🙈🙈 Sorry!!! 🤪
But if you are new, first of all, thank you for being here! 😍
Secondly, in case you’re wondering, the best way to order is by using my weekly menu link. The link is sent directly to subscribers and I also post it on socials. I usually have two bake days a week, but sometimes I cut back here and there depending on our schedule. Every week my menu is created based on seasonal items and whatever I feel like baking. 😁 I use organic ingredients whenever possible, and freshly milled flour that I mill at home. Fresh flour makes a huge difference in taste and quality of my baked goods and I’m so glad it’s something I can provide for you!
I’ve been baking since I was a child and absolutely love it! Four years ago, I decided to turn my hobby into a cottage business and it has been a blessing ever since. I have a food handlers permit and am certified to bake from my home. ❤️ I’ve done weekly markets, special events, monthly markets, and now I’m keeping it simple and mostly just selling from home. I’m a wife and mom to the sweetest five-year-old, and we have started homeschooling this year, which is so fun! More importantly, I am a Christian and don’t hesitate to talk about that here, and if you liked my page, you are now being prayed for so I hope you’re cool with that. 😘

I am so very thankful for such a wonderfully successful bakery week! Thank you so, so, so much for each and every order!! 🥰 I know my bakery has seen many changes in the last year and a half, but I believe I’m hitting my stride with pick and and delivery days, and it is going so very well.
