We have been truly blessed today by the number of folks who chose to spend part of their day with us. That's the positive. The negative is that we have to close a little early due to the limited stock we have left.

We want to thank each and everyone one of you and hope to see you next week when we roll out August's menu.

Many of you have noticed the unique mixed-media pieces displayed throughout our restaurant and have asked about them. We're excited to share that these beautiful works are created by local artist Elizabeth Kordis Laskey, and they're now available for purchase!

Elizabeth's work is inspired by finding beauty in what others leave behind.

"I am a scavenger. I walk, look down, search, and uncover possibilities in what others have discarded. I am drawn to objects marked by wear, damage, and use, finding beauty in their imperfections. This body of work reflects my ongoing struggle with accepting my own flaws and the wear and tear on my body as I age.

I often juxtapose the symbolic perfection of the circle with the decayed and weathered nature of reclaimed materials. Through layering, assemblage, and acts of creative destruction, the work challenges the viewer to move beyond surface appearances and recognize beauty within imperfection."

Elizabeth grew up in Cincinnati and has called Bracken County home since 1992. She is the founder of Eklektikos Gallery in Augusta, earned her BFA in Painting from Northern Kentucky University, and spent nine years creating for Applied Imagination before becoming a full-time independent artist in 2018.

Each piece is handcrafted from reclaimed wood, salvaged metal, vintage materials, and found objects, making every artwork truly one of a kind.

Stop in, enjoy a meal, and take your time exploring the collection throughout the restaurant. If a piece speaks to you, it can go home with you!
