We don’t like to make posts like this but due to an incident at the bar this last weekend and the overwhelming amount of messages we have received we thought addressing it publicly was necessary.

Every business has the responsibility to keep a safe, respectful atmosphere for all of its customers. The Old Timer wasn’t there to referee politics—they were there to run a bar where everyone can enjoy themselves.

No matter what anyone’s political beliefs are, when a conversation turns into a loud argument or disrupts other patrons, it’s reasonable for the staff to step in and ask someone to leave if they believe that’s the best way to calm the situation. That’s not necessarily taking sides; it’s doing their job.

The Old Timer has built its reputation by welcoming people from all walks of life. Let’s not rush to judge a local business based on one person’s version of an emotional night. If we want our community to stay strong, we should support the places that bring us together—not tear them down over political disagreements.

Let’s give the staff the benefit of the doubt and remember that respect goes both ways.

There are road closed signs on 1st street but we would like to let everyone know you can drive around them. They milled the road but it is safe to drive on. Currently we are accessible from the south on 1st and the west on Nevada. You can also use the alley next to OPA to reach the bar. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued patronage during this mess.
