Latte Art Throwdown 2: Electric Boogaloo
Have you ever see the sequel to something and thought to yourself: “why the f*ck did they make a second one!? The first one was perfect on its own!”

Well this is nothing like that! 😎 We’re gonna make more sequels than the Fast and Furious franchise, sorry not sorry! The coffee community is like a big family and Dominic Torretto has been trying to tell you, for like 69 sequels, that’s all that matters.

Dinner and trash talk are on the house and is open for drinks. Come through, hang out, throw down, make friends, make memories.

If you’re not familiar with a Latte Art Throwdown, it’s where a bunch of baristas (non baristas are encouraged to participate as well) gather to see who’s got the skills to pay the bills. A panel of judges then decides, based on latte art alone, who’s goes home with the bragging rights, respect, and the cash.

Why are you still reading this? Anyway here’s the format: single elimination bracket, $10 buy in 100% of which goes to the grand prize, any size drink, any milk type, anything you wanna pour into is fair game (I got $20 for the first person to win with an avocado skin pour.)

Uptown Coffee is hiring for both Marion & NewBo locations!

⭐️Job Overview⭐️

Uptown Coffee Company is looking to add a few members to our team starting in the next month at both Uptown Marion & NewBo locations.

Barista experience is preferred, but if you have a thirst for learning and a desire to join a fast paced team, we will train the right person! Must be able to work at least three shifts a week and must be available at least 3 weekends a month on a 90-day rolling average (including Sundays).

New hires are ideally able to work at both locations (inside NewBo City Market and in the heart of Uptown Marion), and have reliable transportation.

⭐️Barista / Counter responsibilities⭐️

-Guest service and running register
-Making and serving breakfast & lunch items
-Organizing and selling pastries / donuts
-Stamping and stocking cups, bags, lids, etc.
-Espresso making and milk steaming (in time)
-Side work and weekly cleaning projects

⭐️Experience⭐️

Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills with a focus on guest service. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in beverage preparation.

⭐️Pay⭐️
Starting, $12.00/hr + tips (avg take home $17-$20/hr)

TL;DR: Uptown Coffee NewBo is CLOSED the rest of today (Monday, 4/27) & opening at 8am tomorrow (Tuesday, 4/28).

Ok y’all - Demo is in FULL SWING today and first thing tomorrow, so we are closed today (Monday, 4/27) & opening at 8am tomorrow (Tuesday 4/28). Don’t worry, we are plying the construction crew with donuts so they work quick and we can be one step closer to our future home inside the market 💚

UCC Marion is always closed Mondays but is open normal hours tomorrow, 7am-6pm (Tuesday). NewBo hours will be truncated tomorrow (Tuesday) 8am-2pm ✌️
